Okay, all kidding aside - I don't mind picking up hamburgers, hotdogs and some salads, I can get most of it at Costco pretty cheap and everyone can pitch in what they can afford. I agree with everyone else that getting together is more important than food but if you have food, they will come! I think we should do some contests as well with stupid prizes and not the usual "best of car" stuff but who's the biggest dork (you know who you are), LOL. I really want this to be fun and memorable and would like to see friendships made besides talking crap on the board. I know I have big dreams, but if you're going to dream, dream big (keep dreaming Mazdatim, you might get there some day).

 

You'd be surprised how I look in SPANDEX!! lol I can wear a white tank too if you would like to spray me with water while I wash your car before I "wax on, wax off" as you old people say! haha I don't know what I'm supposed to be dreaming about, but since I sleep a lot I'm sure I'll keep dreaming about something..... If I'm just supposed to dream BIG then I'll dream of BIG turbos! I think we should have some contests too, but I think it's only fair that I don't enter cuz I'll win em all! I'm just THAT good!

I too only have a stock 87 GXL (I don't understand why everyone refers to them as fc's etc., I can't remember what mine is) so I doubt I would win any prizes which is why I want to do something different. I vote for having Mazdatim hand out the prizes in his spandex before he waxes my car, LOL. BUT remember, wearing spandex is a privilege not a right!

Update on BBQ. Nothing new to report, I worked all day yesterday and didn't get anything accomplished. Does anyone know anyone who is a Renton resident? If a resident rents the shelter at Coulon it's $50, non-residents it's $100. I have a Renton zip code but live in Newcastle so I'm not a resident.

If I don't find anyone, I will go ahead and reserve it anyway tomorrow.

Life is too short not to have fun and how did spandex turn into a bikini contest? Not that it isn't a bad idea. I like to do things that are far from normal, everyone usually gets a good laugh and has fun.

The only thing not stock on my car are the taillights, I was told they are from a 90. I also took out the auto adjusting suspension. My struts were so bad when I bought the car, when I would hit a pothole or something it would almost throw me in another lane. I couldn't believe the difference after replacing them. They saved my butt one night too, I was in Tacoma doing about 70 and went to change lanes at the same time another car did, I could make out the grooves in his door lock, it was that close. I jerked the steering wheel hard to the right and it felt like the car wanted to tip but she held the road. To this day I am still paranoid when I think someone is going to change lanes.

They need to make trip permits that you can split the days instead using them consecutively, my FD always breaks down on day one, so the others are wasted.

 

Mine is always day 3.... but YEAH they need to split up the days so if it starts to rain and you wanna wait for sun you won't have a wasted day!

You guys are a riot, I like the all male wet t-shirt contest and we could do a calendar with the 12 best looking spandex wearers! I will be attending solo and no, my boyfriend is not a figment of my imagination, honest!!

I posted on nopistons but the site seems to be down but I met with someone tonight and there are a few who are interested in coming. I think once all the details are ironclad we will get a nice turnout. As far as the money for the reservation & food - I think everyone should just pitch in what they can afford and anything we get above the actual cost can go into a fund for the next event. I will need volunteers to help set up and man the BBQ and to clean up afterwards. Since Tim will be busy washing & waxing cars (mine first) we will need a few more willing bodies!
