Actually you nailed it right on the head! haha No I was saying on the FORUM you don't see many women! But I already admit you drive better than me cuz you never got caught w/o your license! Although it's been YEARS since I got a ticket and it's all thanks to my car and the respect I get now from POLICE. I'm sure after all is said about cars and how AMAZING of a driver you are we'd have tons to talk about cuz I never see women... I havce lots to learn. At least I know you'll be entertaining...

But back to business... If you get some word about Coulon tomorrow let me know... Should be a GREAT location cuz I just remembered there's a tunnel right along the freeway we should hit up down there!!

Sorry Mazdatim, I couldn't resist you made it way too easy to give you a hard time. I was very, very lucky I didn't get a ticket but I now have Professional Firefighter plates on my car and I usually don't get pulled over. I do know if I am driving in such a way that is hazardous, my butt will be in jail or at the very least a wreakless ticket. I actually drive more aggressively now that I have my license back then before. I HATE fast lane campers and see it as my duty to ride their *** until they move over and if that doesn't work I get around them and cut them off. I know such behavior is childish and probably dangerous but I get so pissed off that I want to carry something nasty in my car to throw out the sunroof after I've passed them.

Okay back to the topic at hand - I ended up having to work this morning so I haven't done anything today but will get right on it now before it gets too late.

Picnic Shelter Information for Coulon Park: I am thinking the Creekside shelter would work, it is the smallest and there are 40 parking stalls. If the general consensus is this works, I have to go to city hall to reserve the shelter which will give us a date depending on when the shelter is available.

South Shelter: There are 9 picnic tables and 3 barbecues. The barbecues may be used between April 1 and September 30. Though not available in the shelter, electricity and water are available nearby. There is a large grass field adjacent to the sand volleyball courts. Maximum occupancy: 150 (seating available for 108). Parking: 40 stalls located at the west end of the lot designated "South Beach".

North Shelter: There are 7 picnic tables under the shelter, 12 tables outside. The shelter has electricity and 2 sinks available from April 1 to September 30. Five barbecues are available between March 1 and November 1. Maximum occupancy: 200. The shelter is located just north of IVARS and KIDD VALLEY Restaurants. Parking: 30+ stalls in the lot designated "North Beach."

Creekside Shelter: This shelter is located adjacent to John's Creek and the Bathhouse. There are 4 picnic tables, 1 sink and 1 fountain in the shelter. Three barbecues are available between April 1 and September 30. Maximum occupancy: 75. This shelter is not ADA accessible. Parking: 40+ stalls at the northeast end of the lot designated "South Beach."

I don't think we will really need all that much space cuz we don't have much of a response YET, so ALL would work, but I like the name South Beach the best so it sounds more enticing....

I'm pleased to know I'm not the only one with short fused road rage!! However I'm not much for tailgating in my FD cuz I don't wanna hit anybody... I'd much rather pass on the right or left if available...

Friday nights are a good possibility ......... as long as other people decide to SHOW UP!!

Just pick a day to give us some notice and we'll start spreading the word!

Personally I would rather plan for too many and have extra room than no room and too many people. I think once there is a date set and more plans made more people will respond. We have been tossing this idea around for so long that everyone gave up. I will do some more research and see if I can find another place that has a weekend open. I'm not sure how late Coulon Park is open so it would suck if we had to leave by 9:00 or something.

Next question - BBQ or what? I'm open for suggestions.

Yes, this doesn't have anything to do with the topic. . . .

It really doesn't do much good to tailgate anyway because the idiots aren't looking in their rearview mirror and if they do they probably can't see me because the car is so small. It was way more effective riding someone's *** in my Dad's 4x4 with the spare tire mounted on the front bumper. When there is a lot of traffic I just get in my lane and go with the flow. It's a lot less stressful than zipping in and out of traffic and you still get to you destination in the same amount of time. I just crank my stereo and relax.

So I posted a notice on the NW RX7 Club group on MySpace and I got a response from yet ANOTHER person suggesting XXX in Issaquah... From what I recall there was NOT that much parking when I went to a show down there, but others claim I am wrong... However, XXX would eliminate us having a BBQ so that would SUCK... So once again I will say no to XXX...... After writing this I'm not sure why I am posting it... hmmmm...

I vote the three of us BBQ it up somewhere!! More for ME! mmmmm

Since I have taken the responsibility for planning this thing XXX is not on my list. I would like to see a group of fun people get together in a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy themselves without feeling rushed. XXX is usually always busy and I don't want to feel rushed. I think a BBQ will be fun.

As far as progress goes, I was gone all day but have tomorrow off, I think. The only concern I have about Friday night at Coulon Park is what time it closes but I will find out tomorrow and take it from there.

If you look at how many replies there are to this thread and how many times it's been looked at, there is definitely an interest and I don't think Tandolla, Mazdatim & myself are the only ones reading so I am confident that once plans are in place it will be welll attended. Okay, I'm off to find a location. . . .

Okay, more information - the Creekside Shelter at Coulon Park is available July 21st, August 18th & 25th, these are all Friday nights. We can have it from 6:00 p.m. until they kick us out at dusk which this time of the year is around 9:00 I would think. To reserve the shelter is $100, which I don't mind spending. What date would work best for everyone and is the time going to work? We can always go somewhere when the park closes if people still want to hang out.

Okay, the 21st it is. I will go down Monday and reserve the spot. Is there anyone here who is a Renton City resident, it will save me about $25 on the reservation fee. If not, no big deal.

Now that we have a date pinned down we need to move onto other things. What does everyone want to BBQ? Should this be a potluck type thing, oh wait you are all guys and we would probably end up with too much KFC Chicken or who knows what. Give me some ideas on what you would like for food. We can do the basics hamburgers & hotdogs, typical BBQ fare or?????????

Mazdatim, what am I going to do with you?? You wouldn't know what to do with me if I went back to your house.
