Go to a movie??? I thought this was a group gathering to meet one another and look at cars, how can you do that in a movie theatre? I still think one of the larger parks on a sunny day would be fun.

HAHAHAHAHAHA that's funny!! Once the movie is over are we all gonna race for pinks like Everett racers?? Please don't come up to me with a 1980's legend and ask me to race for pinks.... I don't want your car!! lol

Just had a thought... we should conquer a parking garage for our meet and greet!! And everyone remove your CAT!

Golden Gardens would be closer to the Everett area than Alki and used to have a decent sized parking lot. I am racking my brain for more options. Karkeek park isn't too bad either but again, haven't been there in forever. Another idea would be Mukilteo there is a nice park with a huge parking lot. It's a fairly central location. This weekend would be too soon for everyone to plan ahead so June 24th could work, the following weekend is close to the 4th of July and may pose a problem so I would also suggest July 8th. I don't think you should plan too far into the future because people will forget about it.

Just my thoughts.

Yea but ALL beach area parks are PACKED on weekends!! Especially Mukilteo! You'd be lucky to find ONE spot available.... And same with GG as the lot there isn't all that large..... And Alki the parking situation sucks.... Man this is bugging me..... We need to find a place to chill.......

How late do people usually hang out say on a Saturday afternoon? I wonder if we can talk to the Parks Department and request part of the parking lot be reserved for us or maybe they can recommend a location. I will be more than happy to take on the task of planning this thing as long as everyone promises not to chew my butt out if they don't like the end result!

Good luck trying to get a state agency to help us out. Ive been on a cruise or two with car show that had special privilages granted to us by the state...it always ends up badly because people speed, cause problems, make noise and generally **** the public off, so Im not too sure they are going to do that for car clubs anymore. Id still give it a try if I was you, but we might have more luck somewhere else that isnt a park w/ beach.

Everett is too far north? I drive from Redmond to Tacoma, Bellingham, Coure d'Alene, Vancouver (WA), Portland, just to get to the beggining of a run. The idea was to have a N. End meet. Hell, if N Everett is too far north for N. Enders you've got problems.

North Everett is too far for the Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia/Federal Way guys... They wanna stick around their area.... I'm sure everyone from Lynnwood to Bellingham/Blaine wouldn't care, but since MOST of the guys who post in our section are Seattle/Olympia guys they are pushing for a meeting near Seattle

I will take over the planning of this event like I said earlier. If Everett is too far north what would be a halfway point? Edmonds, Lynnwood? I will get in touch with the Parks Department and tell them we are having a reunion, do I have to tell them it's for a car club? There are always more than one way to defur a feline. Another suggestion that was made was Coulon Park in Renton. That is an easy drive down 405 for those of you in Everett, I used to do that about every day.

The first thing we need to do is decide on a location and from there I can see what type of places are available. We have lots of options. I also need to get an idea of approximately how many plan on attending, that will also have something to do with location and how big of a place we will need to accomodate us. Another question is what kind of event do we want, picnic, BBQ, what about alcohol? I don't advise anyone drink and drive but if some of you do want to drink I will have to look into a liquor license and that will also limit where we can hold the event.

I would like to get started on this soon, my boyfriend (I am a she not a he) is out of the country for two weeks so planning this will keep me out of trouble. So, for those of you who are serious about attending something like this please PM me or post your thoughts.

Tammy

Sweet we got a GIRL on the forum... Not too often I see one of those... If you were'n taken I'd hit on you... LOL Well I don't think Coulon is a bad location, but it's the same distance for us up here as the Seattle guys goin to Everett... I'd say ok to that, but it's up to everyone else who has a problem with ACTUALLY driving their cars... I say PICK a place and if people don't like it they don't have to go! Just try for something you think is reasonable that people won't b**** about. And as for the alcohol... I love it but I don't think it'll be smart for us to have alcohol there as it might discourage whoever is letting us use their facilities.. Just my opinion though. And I'm diggin a barbecue!! mmmmmmmm

I will check into Coulon Park in Renton then. As far as alcohol and a car get together, I don't approve of anyone drinking and driving but I also think as responsible adults, well maybe that's a stretch here, LOL I was only thinking about being as legal as possible because if people want to drink they will whether it's legal or not. I would rather apply for a liquor license and act like the responsible adults we are. I haven't seen any burn-off competitions scheduled or drag races or seeing who's stereo is the loudest. If we behave ourselves (no fun, I know) we can prove that RX7 owners are a refined breed and be accepted anywhere. Yes, I know I'm dreaming but come on, are we planning a High School Keg? Okay, sorry I'm ranting. I have a tendency to be stubborn and bull headed and have a hard time accepting a group consensus if it's not what I want. I will spend some time tomorrow morning making phone calls and will report back when I have information. In the meantime keep throwing ideas my way.

Oh and Mazdatim - are you a hermit or something that prevents you from seeing girls? Are we really that rare of a commodity? ROFLMAO, I am really a smart *** with a twisted sense of humor and after we wore out the topic of our cars and you had to admit that I drive better than you, what would be left?
