Radio Install

A good friend of mine recently gave me his old stereo (Kenwood KDC-MP225) and since I tend to make small things like installing a stereo a lot more complicated than it should be, I need some suggestions on a good place to get it installed. Pretty much, it'll need a 2din/3din to 1din part (still rocking the factory head unit) and a wiring harness and I don't want to pay out the wazzu for them. I was thinking Car-Toys but they have a tendancy to charge way too much for little things so does anyone else in the Redmond/Bellevue/Kirkland/Issaquah area have any good (and still fairly cheap) suggestions on where to get this done? Or does someone want to come over one day and help me buy the parts and install it?

I've also got a Sirius unit (KTC-SR901) but unless anyone has a phase 1 antenna, that won't be going in.

The kicker is that I'm waiting on my tax refund to get here otherwise I don't have any money.

Its an FC right? best buy has the install kit for that....
and then just refer to the 2nd gen faq for the wire colors ya need. It took me about 30 mins to do it, but thats because I am also a dunce and was trying to wire up an amp at the same time and just getting wires confused.

Really? Their generic Mazda one works? I saw it but was a little warry of it. And yeah, it's just my '91 FC.

Yeah it works just fine, its what I got in my car if you ever seen that radio install. the top holds a 1din head unit, and beneath it is a little bin like thing to throw stuff if ya want, or just block it off.

You can make a panel out of wood to go in the lower din. I put a boost gauge in the 87 and a ACV-R in the 89

Yeah, I want to have a little gauge cluster down there A/F, some temp monitoring, etc.
