even kbb.com states that a 10ae "retail value" is 4.7k
and private party "excellent" is 3.4k
this is obviously just a quote, for a stock 10ae with 100 miles on it...
any aftermarket parts will raise or lower the value depending on how it was done... ie a hot air intake = less, a real cold air = more
plus these are collectors cars so *shrugs*
its all up to you... buy one for how much you want it, and if they wont go to that walk away and keep looking, no use buying a 18 year old car that you think you paid too much for or its in bad condition.
in 2 years or so i have been looking at fcs i found 10ae go from 3k to 9k, so its just the pic of the draw...
i wish ya luck in your hunt

I cant believe they said 6.3k for it. on the sign it says 5.5k. go look at it and if you have 5k cash and you like it, just hand him the cash. I am sure they would take 5k cash instead of trying to hold out for 500 more. Well you never know.

KBB doesn't account for the "gotta have it" factor. The 10AE is a collector, and people are willing to pay more for it. If the car is worth 6K to you, pay 6K. If it's just a plain old 18 year turbo rx-7, pay 3K.

Personally, I'd pay $500 for a new Ford Focus. People pay $18000 for one. I don't have the desire to invest money in that certain vehicle.

I'd pay $5k for a 10ae in good condition with a strong motor. Also, I tend to decrease a car's value as modification increase. Generally, a stock or very slightly modded car is worth more than a modded one.
