You need higher octane when you have a turbo and have to worry about detonation under heavy boost. If you are n/a you are correct, it doesn't really matter what you are burning.

When I went through the emissions ordeal with my 2nd gen a couple years back they didn't do visual inspection (in WA), only sniffer.

And I wasn't aware that Oregon did a dB testing, that sucks...

I didn't have no smog pump on mine and I passed! Cat finally warmed up and it got the green light!

Hmmm interesting! No more 92 octane for me! haha! 87 octane for the 87 TII! muahahahahaha! Money saver now! Yeah I've noticed that when I put 92 octane in it seems to go quicker than the 87 octane! Even when I push it
