Paint Prep
I thought you all might want to see how a car is painted in steps. Heres a few pics of Blue getting prepped for paint. Will post the stages as they come in. The Dark blue sample against the red second gen is the color Blue will be. It's a midnight pearl. The next step is primer and blocking stage, then paint.

ARGHHHHH!!!!! You sent it in with the good wheels and tires on it? Might be a good idea to swap them out before spray. Just a thought. Oh yeah, the color ROCKS, I can't wait to see it done!
Im sure Cori will clean her up real good before he paints. He has been spending extra time on Blue. At first I didn't really like the color he is going to paint it, but when he put that quick sample against what color Blue is now...it was awesome.
He said it was aweful paint that was on the car. Took a whole roll of sandpaper to get it off. Good ole maaco paint. Cori said the paint was mushy, and not cured all the way.

The car looked so bad, that when I entered the shop to visit my car, I walked right past it. Ray and Cori had to cough and say "Heres your car".

Here is the final product....delivered at 3am Saturday...
Theres still a final cut needed to be done to get all the flaws, and paint in engine bay, but it sure was worth the wait.

1. Was when I first bought the car
2. Was Maaco painting it the wrong color
3. New years party beer bottles thrown at it
4. Mazdas and More dropping my hood
5. And now this last paint job
I must say this is the best of the best.
Some don't like it but I LOVE it, thats all that counts. I can't get my eyes off it. There's very minimal amounts of flaws. These guys are right on it.Today they came by with all my parts that were painted under the hood. They re-painted them the same color as my car. The strut bar, Shroud that goes in front of radiator, battery stand, oil filler tube, throttle bracket, air booster line, elbow for thermostat, fly wheel inspection cover, clutch master cylinder cap, brake master Cylinder cap, and the center of the clutched fan and 6 Atkins Rotary oil filters.
I also decided to retint my side windows and rear window with 30% and will be done by tomorrow.
The engine bay is pretty dirty right now. Havent a chance to clean up and re-polish everything yet.
