OR Looking for other RX-7 enthusiasts to hook up with!

Hey All,

I just bought my dream car and am really excited to network locally. I live and work in Beaverton, Cedar Hills area. Please advise if there are any times anyone nearby is getting together on a regular basis. Thanks

I'm not a new rx7 owner I used to have an 83 now I've got a 86 N/A(on blocks till I get the clutch and tranny back in), but I never used the forums much except for when I've had problems. Anyways I'm in Tigard or Eugene when I go to school. Cool to see some people in the area.

Be sure to do a reconnaissance run before you hit that road at speed.

Howdy fellow Oregonians! I live in the Beaverton/Aloha area and work downtown. In fact I see that there are a lot of PW people up in here, I suppose I should confess that I worked at the corporate office for a few years, I left the company shortly before the move to the Hillsboro warehouse.

Anyways... I'll also confess that I don't have an RX7. I have a 1995 Miata and I came here to gather info for an LSD swap. I picked up an FC non-turbo LSD that I'm rebuilding to use in the Miata. I just ordered a bunch of disks from MazdaTrix so as soon as they get here I'll be shimming that sucker up to 100+ lbs of breakaway torque.

The other reason I'm here is that I someday dream of a 13b swap for my Miata. I owned an 85 RX7 once in high school so I know a little about rotaries but I'd like to learn more.

I do participate in autocross events as often as possible, and I'm thinking about entering a drift day this year. I hate having to sketch out about cops every time I go sliding around.

Anyways, I'll post up a pic of the Miata so wave if you see me!

The local clubroadster.net group meets up about once every other month or so. One of my favorite drives is when we meet up in the St.Johns area of North Portland and drive over the St.Johns bridge, up Germantown to old Germantown and end at the Rock Creek Tavern for some brews.

Fun driving and good beer, can't beat it!

I LIVE in St. Johns and have yet to see or hear that group. What's funny is that I've done that drive solo and ended up at, yep you guessed it, the Rock Creek Tavern. Enjoyed a couple of hefe's, too. Hope to see you all there some bright sunny afternoon soon.

Hehe I worked at Pdub until they moved. I would have stayed if they hadn't. I didn't want to commit to driving down to hillsboro. Nice picture btw.

OR getting together

I'm not a mechanic, but i would really like to get ready to do some driving this spring/summer after I get my '84 a little more road-ready. (front end work and suspension upgrades) Getting together with guys that know more about my car than I do so I can learn, do some driving, and get some ideas are what I'm after. Anyone have anything planned?

Going to the monthly RPNW meetings on the first wednesday of every month is a great way to meet people who can help you with questions and problems. The next meeting is this wednesday. It takes place at round table pizza somewhere around portland.

Thanks. I learn something new every day. I'll try to make it to a meeting soon. Is it a fairly "flame-free" group? (By that I mean are they patient with newbies?)

Is anyone going to the Friends of PIR season opener event?

http://www.friendsofpir.com/fopir/in...id=1&Itemid=32

There's a session where anyone can drive around the track at "highway speeds" for $10 for three laps. And also if you have an intermediate license there are some lapping sessions with the Porsche club for only $90!

I am definitely going with a few other roadster friends.

$10 is super cheap to get out and do a few laps. It's not going to be racing, but it's still fun to get out there and get pumped up for the upcoming season.
