Official BDC tuning session: Sept. 27+28

Hello all. I have setup another session for us people in the NW. I have setup a tuning date with BDC on Sept 27th and 28th. Currently I think we have 2 spots left in the weekend. If these don't get filled it is no problem, but if someone is interested let me or BDC know. I can give you more info on the matter. Serious people only please.

Thanks
~Tweak

Yeah, I know. But like I said, it's not mandatory that we have 10 people to fill the weekend. He only likes to tune 2 cars a day, really sitting and getting to know the car. Anyways, people that requesed info, I PM'ed back.

I can comfortably do three cars per day and I don't have any particular limit on how many I need. If you guys are doing SevenStock then I can come sometime in October. It's not a problem.

Ok so we are going to move the official date to October 4th and 5th. Location is still being decided. Could all the people interested please post where you would like it to be? It seems as though we are all from either yakima or portland. I am more than willing to go to portland, and tickets might be cheaper.

I am getting super antsy, sitting here with an untuned rx7. It has been to long. We need to get the ball rolling. The people I have talked too (you know who you are) are all ready also. Lets get it going. Who is in for sure?

You know I'm in, but if you move the session back any further than the 4th/5th I'm going to kill a kitten. You don't want to be responsible for the death of a kitten do you?

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! I am itching to get tuned like I got some sort of full body STD. O.o

Ok it is set then. 4th and 5th. Tonight I will be calling the yakima dyno facility. I will find the rates and let you know. BDC would like to have a place to stay, and he is welcome to stay at my place in yakima. If the rates are outragous then we will have to make another plan.

It is set, no pushing it back. Show up or you don't get tuned by bdc, that is it.

I am going to PM you my phone number, we should talk tonight. I will be buying tickets for BDC to fly in if everything goes ok talking to the yakima dyno. We have 70 mph highways with some pretty steep hills that might help easy the tuning too that are semi close by.

Ok, I feel better now.

We have room for 1 more person if someone wants to join late.

Cool cool. Do you think think you might want to slip in for a little tunning if he happends to have some free time and such? Not sure what he would charge to fix the little problem in your tune. It might just be a little setting we don't know.

depends on the cost, i still owe you from the last..lol, dont want to spend more money on it with out payin you...
i will try to drive it up though, and avoid the cops....ha ha ha. we all know how hard that is.
im sure if he is as good as you say, he could prolly fix it with out a problem..
but well see... no major bug deal, just kinda annoying when you hit light boost it gets really rich and stumbles...

Wow ok, autometrics isn't open on the weekends, but I am going to call back in a few hours to see if we can have something done specially for us since we are having a tuner come in. I will keep you all up to date.

Maybe try Jet City Tuning again? All the reviews from the last session there were great and the rates were fairly reasonable

Yeah, but then BDC won't really have a place to crash at. We would like to get it close to one our our guys houses if possible. The boss left early today at the dyno, but he should be calling me back around 1 tomorrow hopefully. If you guys are comfortable with him staying at your place also, I am fine with that, but I was just trying to make things work here first.

ok, I contacted autometrics of yakima, It was 1000$ for 8 hours a day for both sat. and sunday. I was like O.o We don't need that many hours, so he said it won't be worth his time to go less than 600$ for 4 hours a day on both days.

So if we get 4 people that is 150$ each, and everyone will get ~2 hours on the dyno, (if not more). To me, that seems like an OK price, but I could be wrong.

Now I don't think we will all be requiring our 2 hours, and there is a good chance I could get some people that just want to dyno their cars for cheap and use up the rest of our time. ( I know a lot of people from yakima that would like to do that)

What do you guys think of this? We get our 4th person (shouldn't be too much of a problem I wouldn't think) and I find 2 people that want to pay 40$ for some dyno pulls, it would be down to about ~130 for each person.

I would assume that while steve is out street tuning people we could start getting the next car on the dyno, and or gettin people that want to pay for pulls (no tunning) up there.

The good thing I guess is that IF we need more time to tune the cars, it's not like they are going to close the dyno, we could just extend the days longer with no problems I'm sure.

What are your opinions on this? Does this sound good to everyone? I need to know ASAP or we will have to make other plans.

Yeah guys, don't feel that any of you have to pay for dyno time. I don't have to have it to do the job I do on tuning. The reasons why I'd use it are for prohibitive weather or for cars that are running an excessive amount of boost and making an excessive amount of power (stuff like 450hp, 25psi of boost, that kinda thing). I do everything I need to do on the street and in a safe fashion. If the cost of the dyno is prohibitive, then there's no need to spend your money on it as it will not compromise the quality of my tuning job.

ok, sounds great. I vote no dyno, and we all do our own dyno on our own money laters. Thank you BDC. As soon as 2much and island call me, I will buy the tickets.

Those dyno prices seem a little high. $1000 for 8 hours. I wanna say with a 5 car lineup and start to finish no real time limit at Jet City it was $150 per car which would work out to $750 for the day. Also, BDC you're probably not familiar with the Pacific NW but it's most likely going to be raining in October... Falls here suck. Might be tough to do good street tuning

Central WA is normally really dry compared to the coast.

Got it. The last time I was anywhere nearly remotely close was about 4yrs ago in Oregon. Worse comes to worst, we'll divide the tuning up into two parts -- low-load on the street and high-load on a dyno. That should cut any kind of hourly costs way down if in the event the weather is bad and we have to find a place. Thanks for the heads-up.
