nikki expert in tacoma area?

hey guys hows it going. i have a very clean, bone stock 84 gsl i am using for my daily driver. i love my car but need a little more get up. i have read the 1st gen faq and mod list descusion and have got a few ideas on the mods i want to do

i already plan on getting a full custom exhaust from the manifold flange back, and removing a lot of smog b/s

i have noticed a lot of people convert the nikki carb's from vacume secondaries to a manual setup. i am not confident enough in my carb skills to do this myself

is there anyone in the tacoma area that would want to help me out? i have some cash, so payment isnt an issue.

if you would like to help me out, please feel free to post here. also if you know any other tips on the nikki carb and are willing to do the job feel free to through them my way

i dont want anything to extreem, i am just looking for a little power gain, not making this any sort of race car. i have my volkswagen for that

thanks in advance guys, have a good one

I have modified quite a few Nikkis. More than I can remember. Most of my customers notice a significant differance. Maybe some of them will chime in. I have a Shop in Oregon. You are welcome to ship it to me to have it modified. Or, bring it on down.

Prices vary depending on mods.

Don't hate on the VW's I had a Jetta coupe with an 8v in it, sure it wasn't fast but looked sick and got great gas mileage - made an awesome DD and plan on getting one again.

Also you can build up the 8v nicely, its a durable engine, a nice Bahn Brenner supercharger can put you up to 300+hp.

i wouldnt go that far...course a mod list would prove that also

but yes, i dont see why the hating on other peoples projects is so damn abundent these days. people like what they like, and everyone does things a little different. if this wasnt so, we would ALL be the damn same

spread the love of indeviduality god i sound like a hippy...but its the truth

If I had a bone stock gsl, I would keep it stock. A completely stock car is going to be much nicer down the road and simply yet another modded 7. Any mods you do to the car will end up lowering it's value.

Also, as a neighbor, even though you car no longer needs to be emissions tested, I'd appreciate if you kept it emissions compliant. I like breathing.

Consider taking the money that you would be spending on mods, on simply restoring the car to pristine condition. Just a thought......

as i sayed, i am doing minor basic mod's to gain a little more power for a more practical daily driver while keeping the car as factory as possible. your recomendation is noted, but i know how i want my vehical to perform. seeing as my car is in 99% perfect condition, any sort of restoration is not needed. thanks for your consern

as for the polution factor, wish i could help, but the removal has already begun

stock carbs can be modified to produce good numbers........but, if you want real improvments, go with a racing beat intake , side draft delardo, and a racing beat header kit and custom exhaust. did this a few years ago in a rotary pick up with a jap import engine, man what a differance to runability and responce, just takes $$$$

Have RW-7 do it. He does a good job. he did alot of work fixing my busted *** carb/s. My car is always a PITA. lost my axle back exhuast yesterday, spent the remainder of yesterday and part of today redoing it from the header back. I now have 2 mufflers that do less muffling than my big *** apex'i strait piped from the header. I miss my big *** blown out muffler. so after I got it all back on the freaking car flooded. my car never flooded before. It just was being picky. everythings working right now. My spark plugs need to be changed again I think.

I agree with jinxed about RW-7. He has rebuilt three or four 1st gen carbs for me and I recommend him too.

right now im deciding if i am going to keep the stock motor after all. its starting to smoke a lot at warm up and seems to have a miss.

deciding what route to go at the moment. if i end up keeping the 12a and modding the carb "most likely will" then RW-7 will be the one to do the work. seem's everyone has had a lot of good words about your work
