i got my Power FC + cmdr today along with some new plugs and wires. we used the base maps so no real tunning yet but the differance was amazing. well at least to me. LOL
Full Stock with Factory tune was:
191 rwhp and 168 ftlbs torque
Power FC, Spark Plugs + Wires:
210rwhp and 195 ftlbs torque
So just replacing some electronics and a new ECU i have a gain of 19 rwhp and 27 ftlbs of torque. So this has kind of got me wondering has to just how much gain i can get JUST by replacing or upgrading my electronics.

Could easily be attributed to tired ignition components. It's very important when making power. It's pretty simple. What good is all that fuel if you can't burn it?
BTW that's REALLY GOOD torque

You stock numbers seemed low, but great to see your gain with the PowerFC, Plugs & Wires. Just out of curiosity, what plug wires did you go with? and did you go with stock 7s & 9s for your plugs?
oh know it was the plugs that were deffinantly tired they where nothing but nubs when i looked at them. i didnt think it was that simple at the time. but after i saw the differance it got me thinking as to what other eletronics that have to do with the engin might be tired as well. its nice to here from more expirenced people that some of my #'s are going in the right direction. lol
dont know what kind of dyno it is.lol
i know im using NGK plugs and i believe it is the 7s and 9s. the wires i believe are NGK also.
so to continue with my little expirement. i think my next step might be a boost controler, okada plasma booster, new coils. is there any other electronics that have a direct influace on my engin as far ignition system and controlers that i may have missed?

As well as electronics, it may be interesting to understand the fuel system, since if you are running rich or have a leaky injector, that will just found the plugs again soon. NGK is fine stuff, no use paying ridiculous prices for your current setup.
What are you miles? stock (clogged?) cat? Achieving stock boost pattern (10-8-10)? More info would be helpful.

before this i was 100% stock. factory tune everything. i dont think this thing has been worked on since it was made. lol miles are 71000 boost pattern is still 10-8-10 so far that i know. sorry i dont know what kind of info will help. exhaust is stock, cat stock( maybe even origenal)
10-8-10 boost pattern and stock is a great start, so you don't have to trouble shoot all the other PITA things that can cause boost problems.
Not sure how much other electronics may get you, it depends on what electronics you were thinking. What else were you thinking? ignition system, etc.?

Yes they will, it's just a different cartridge basically (slightly more airflow) and I am pretty sure stock boost levels are 12psi on th 99 specs. Cuz that's what it was on BlueShift's car with stock cat and he had 99 twins. As far as practicality goes and bang for your buck, get the BNR 3's cuz they are very close to the same price as the 99's, but much more efficient and capable of higher power levels.
PLEASE wait on the boost controller until you have opened up your exhaust. Your increased boost won't be efficient and will only cause heat to build up and you'll lose power from heat soak. You will be surprised at the difference a downpipe, hi flow cat, and catback will make. It's like driving a whole new car. Boost controller should be the least of your worries. If you want to help out your ignition an HKS ignition amplication unit would be a great addition to your car. For some reason my brain isn't working right now and I can't process the name of it... I should kick my own *** cuz I'm an HKS frrrrrrrreak. Twin Power there we go it just hit me, get an HKS Twin Power and that will help your spark, replace your coils for sure at your mileage. And like I said increase your intake and exhaust flow, let your engine breathe, be fore you add a boost controller.

FYI, no bike will ever be as fast through a corner as a car can. Two words, contact patch. Power to weight is great, but it has it's limits. Once you can't put that power to the ground it's no longer fun, or fast for that matter.
