WA My next journey

Hey all. I don't know if anyone I know still posts on here, but I thought I'd update those I know. My trip to LA has been a success. I graduated last year from UCI with my BA in political science. My infamous FB was totaled in 2011, I replaced it with a beautiful FC I spent thousands of hours on. Somewhere along the way I realized how impossible it is to own a modded Rx7 in California (TICKETS! TICKETS! GET YOUR TICKETS HERE!), so I sold my FC and replaced it with the only less reliable vehicle IN.THE.WORLD, an Audi A4. After making near 300ft lbs and about 220whp: I broke 2 axles, broke the dual mass flywheel, replaced the clutch & flywheel, and grenaded 3rd gear all within a 3 month period. I drove it straight to the Subaru dealer (with no 3rd gear) and picked up a 2014 BRZ. After owning that for about a year I decided I really wanted a 2015 BRZ Series.Blue, so I flipped my car and bought a 2015. (I'm fine... I hit a coyote, then a curb, and it rolled onto its side)
For the past year I have been working on public health policy, specifically homeless policy and health policy for veterans with mental illness. I decided I needed to progress my career a bit more, so now I'm building a mini trailer to tow behind my BRZ on my way from LA to DC to get my Masters in Public Policy from American University.

Any hoot, how are all my friends back home?

Adrian! Good to hear from you man. Don't see you on facebook anymore. Things are pretty quiet here. Lots of newbies joining facebook groups instead of the forum. Really sad, as they don't have any access to the wealth of information here, and I just see typical ricer modding questions on FB. Starting to see a bunch of really tastelessly modded rx-8s rolling around too. (read: giant stupid looking wings).

I caved for more power and bought the m3. Still hoping Mazda gets its **** together and makes a car I actually want to buy. Still plugging away at Microsoft. Hope all is well with you.

Yeah im back in the forums after 10 or so years (Just talked myself out of LS3 swap) and regional is dead. It's making it hard to locate tuners to say the least. Would have gone haltech for local help but since it appears in on my own ill likely go with something more capable. I stopped checking the 2nd gen forums because all the stance hype there was making me want to switch to 3rd Gen.

Hey Matt!! Good choice. I love M cars! The e92 is brilliant. I want that V8 in my BRZ.
I finally got sick of Facebook and I deleted it. One of these days we need to organize a meet with all the old gang to see what everyone is driving these days.

Give us some notice as to when you will be back in the area- and we'll try to make something happen.

Wow, congrats, Ryan!! I think the last time I saw you, you had just gotten engaged. I'm in the process of trying to talk my girlfriend out of getting an S3. I love Audi's when they're new, but hit 100K miles and throw!them!away!

Is Lloyd still around? I was expecting to hear about a Slammed_GSL 20B FB.

Anyway, if you guys get bored, I am blogging & vloging my trip. Throw me some support to help out my sponsors and check out my thread: LA2DC - Scion FR-S Forum | Subaru BRZ Forum | Toyota 86 GT 86 Forum | AS1 Forum - FT86CLUB & subscribe to my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Hyper4mance2k

Hopefully my trip isn't too exciting (no breakdowns), but I'll be vloging & documenting my drive across the US.

Hey Adrian!

Glad to see you are doing well! I recently took a week long vacation in Cali. Only took an hour before I noticed NO old shitty, loud, cars. The traffic is so quiet, except for the honking! Drivers are so aggressive down there. No doubt an rx7 would be a ticket magnet in that area. We bought a ton of alcohol for our wedding down there because of the ridiculous tax in WA. Literally saved $500 buying almost all of it in a San Francisco Costco. XD lol

Nice to see you in a BRZ! About the only modern car I think I could compare to the sporty small cars are used to! Towing a trailer behind a smaller car is so fun.

I have taken a year off of drifting after getting the pro FD license to get married. Bought a house, got some more puppies, doubt I will ever get back into drifting with all the money I am saving. XD After the wedding, I got an AWD FC project I am gathering parts for though!

Good to hear from you, good luck in DC bud!

Hey bro! I sold my remaining RX-7 stuff earlier this year and I rarely come here anymore, but it's cool hearing about your adventures. Nice choice with the BRZ - I've been eyeing them myself, but I'll wait until they're a bit older because I'm allergic to cars that aren't ancient and full of problems.

Anyway, good luck! Hopefully we can meet up sometime when I'm back in the States.
