Cool my next daily beater

if everything works out on the seller's end, i may pick up a hot-*** '92 MX-5 for a cool $2500. it's on the other side of the country so shipping is gonna be around $1200.. but still $3700 for a loaded '92 with a new top and 120k mi is a bitchin' deal no matter how you look at it.

http://www.redhavana.net/files/newtop.JPG (56k might take a minute)

i hope the owner ends up willing to sell.

so im exploring my options for getting the car here... my dad has all sorts of frequent flyer miles and it wouldn't take a lot of convincing to have him fly me out there... it should cost around 250-300 in gas to cross the continent, which is way more affordable than having the car shipped.

think i could drive across the country in 4-5 days? that averages around 725mi/day. sounds doable to me.

Your talking driving 15 to 16 hours a day if you don't stop much. You will probably be jello by the third day. Might give yourself 7 days so your still alive when you get home.

So when you putting a 12A or 13B in it.

Sounds like a deal Brad. I have always wanted a miata for a daily driver. I don't think I am that far away now that I am out of college. Let us know how you like it.

I bought a BMW in Ohio and drove it 3100 miles to Seattle in 32 hours. Although I also never went below 100mph the intire way. I'm sure you could do your trip in 3-4 days easy.

I did Gold Bar, WA to Oklahoma City, OK (2074 miles) in 36 hours. That was about the limit for me; I was seeing pink elephants by the time I crossed the border.

I think with another driver you could do it easily in 4-5 days. Bring lots of music and books.

If you put street addresses & city/st. in the map search It will give you a route, without the street addresses it won't work.

Eh? Street addresses are not necessary. It will give directions from town center to town center without them. Same with ZIP codes.

My 90 Miata will be for sale next summer if anyone is still looking. I might do a 1.8L swap in it before I sell it.

argh the suspense is killing me. the owner says he's 80% sure he'll sell it to me since he's looking at one with half the miles. if he likes the one he's gonna look at, i buy his. and he still hasn't scoped out the fresher one.

WANT TO TOUCH THE HINEY
