my car is having alot of trouble

my car is acting up and having alot of water temp problems and doesn't sound right when revved. it doesn't drive right and i have no idea what the problem is. if someone could possible come take a look at my car and help me source the problem i would be greatly appreciative. there is also a strange groaning noise coming from around my radiator if anyone has any ideas on what this could be please let me know. any help suggestions or even possible ideas of what could be wrong would be very helpful.

Did you check your coolant level? Oil? All that stuff? Groaning sounds like air inside the coolant possibly. Maybe a thermostat problem if it seized like mine and isn't allowing the coolant to flow... Couple easy things to check. Also pull your plugs and see if there is any coolant on them. Always check your map sensor hose if it's running very poorly.

Could be something else but you should be able to check those fluids easily

bleed your coolant system. I can almost guarantee even tho your coolant looks full there is still air in the system. you probably lost a lot of coolant. how bad did it overheat and how long was the car running while overheating?

Ouch that's hot anything above about 110 and you could be looking at potential seal damage... Notice any sweet scent to your exhaust? Make sure your coolant is full then check for air bubbles. Also pull your plugs and look for coolant/water on them. Rule out any seal damage before checking the rest of the components.

See if your fails the "champagne bubble test", if you don't know what it is you can search for it in the 3rd gen section and there is also at least 1 youtube video on it (I think a few of them).

Also make sure you know how to properly fill and bleed / purge your coolant system of bubbles, it's a pain in the *** on an FD, and there are some tricks to making it easier (removing coolant line near TB, taking off the undertray to be able to squeeze the large lower hose, using ramps, etc.).

Yes, you would need a new thermostat (and the gasket to go with it), but that's a cheap and easy fix. You can order the part (with the gasket) from Ray @ Malloy Mazda for cheap.
