Sorry to hear that. Did you try to start it? That's normally when they blow. My LS is still working great. Want some help finding a 5.3? I saw some for $600 with warranty. More power, better MPG, better emissions, better better. Let me know if you want any help!

I'm interested to see what failed. You say that it sounds like the rear rotor is no longer indexed correctly on the stationary, I just wat to see what happened.

Guess that vibration was a precursor to the big failure... Written down in notebook, could have spun a rotor bearing and that's what is giving it the runout to knock Joe.

I have seen some have perfect pressure and run with a spun bearing, pull off the oil filter and check for debris in the pedestal.

Who built the last engine ? it's not the engines fault it popped as the V8 lovers would like you to think.

I did, trying to get it back in my shop so I can give it a once over and figure out the failure. Previous motor went on him when an oil line ruptured, lost bearings in the process. I know we used good solid parts for this so I want to know what went wrong just like he does 1BADSP.

Was the oil cooler and lines flushed? (Thermostat removed obviously).

well all i am a v8 guy and a rotory lover both. I just have a passion for cars, be it piston or rotary. They are ment to be driven, i have had show cars that i drove even on rainy days, why let it sit? Cars are ment to be driven, not sitting for you to show off to the neibors. nuff said. I built my rx7 to be a dailly driver, even with a hot rod engine, that is my choice. since ownership of two years i have put over 40k on this chassis. clock shows over 215k and is still in great shape, no rust or body damage........so we put engine number three in it and go again. There is not a part out there that can not be broken, I can prove it really I can! all it is, is money and a passion, and a desire to drive...........and I have lots of drive, just not a lot of money.
