In all fairness if he has to lose 6 plugs, then on the track (qtr mile) you need to gain over a 100lbs to make it fair
Bottom line, the v8 will eat all rotarys on the track, mod for mod, its just better... AutoX is a whole new story... There are many factors there that can be talked about, but the only way to know who's got what is to get there and show it

aaaand thats my point. bring your precious investments to some events! there are 6 NWAA autox practice weekends scheduled for next year, on top of all the regular competition. 3 in packwood, 3 in astoria airport. each event is $56 for 3 solid days of driving (entries are capped at 50 cars i think). by far the best deal ever for motorsport enthusiasts.
unless of course you're only interested in going strait for a little while then stopping. which im not. at all.

Like you,I built a well actually a few cars for a specific purpose.while you have no desire to drag racei have no desire to drive around cones in a parking lot.but to each there own.we have gotten way off track of the origin of jordan's post.sorry jordan.I am done cluttering it up.I will start a new thread so we can continue as we were.
"up yours el nino"
And really unless you are planning on doing a tear or monster "J" port i wouldnt try to take a v8 7, its just not really possible.. I like my turbos and even then i am weary, its like thinking that a t2 with some mods can take a sti, you want it and want it bad, but when the reality happens it just hurts... Find a civic or neon and eat it up, thats what i do

how much boost are you running? All the above was acheived at 10 PSI. Lightly modded. DP, hollow cat, still had the dual catback (not stock), Ported turbine inlet and waistgate, 3"turbo inlet duct with cone filter. 255 LPH pump, I think I still had the stock injectors at the time. No tune running rich due to stock regulator, and big fuel pump.. My motors been rebuilt I don't think it has any porting but maybe??? When Its running right Its pretty scarry fast. burns rubber 1st-3rd at the top of each gear with **** tires. I've made pretty brave passangers squeel. I also have a front sway bar, that helps alot in the corners. I need more suspention though.
Cant say eather of the other cars had any kind of tune, could have been riced up with ebay junk IDK. but it was for shure an evo with at least a few mods, and an stock STI (seperate occations).
All I'm saying is T2's are quite fast when modded. upping boost helps alot.
The horse power of those cars arn't too much more than a stock T2, Plus take in that they have AWD that robs more power than the RWD, and both of those cars are pigs compaired to a FC. I've had a NA lancer, and ****** had some heavy parts, doors weighed 130 each, 4 doors, dash weighed like 70 without airbags, cluster or sterio/heater surround/ no fans just dash. seats are pretty heavy/ except the rears where pretty light. also all the weights in the front.
Now what I can tell you that they would out handle a lightly modded suspentioned rx, bone stock with the awd, and huge brakes, but other than that. its driver/guts/lack of brains.
Seriously you guys need to get off your high horse, I have owned a few cars in my time, most notably a 303 rwhp mustang dyno proven FB, tuned by Steve Kan, maybe you have heard of him.
Guess what, it had literally like 20 K dumped into, 5lug conversion, Moser axles, T-2 brakes, front and back, hawk pads, stainless lines, RB front sway bar, strut tower bar, coil-overs on the front, camber plates, ackerman plates, spherical bearings on the l.c.a, 5 zigen wheels, 17's, Falken RT615's auto cross tires, Carbon fiber hood from Austrailia, FD R1 seats, tokico adjustable shocks, all new bearings and hubs, competition alignment, Thats just the suspension. I'll save the motor mods for the next time
When we autocross it a few years back, guess who consistently beat me in her bone stock, 2000 BMW 540i with a 6 speed., no mods, with pilot sport all seasons, my wife. I'm talking raw time to raw time, no indexs. Is she a better driver than me, sometimes, usually we are very close in times at the end of the day.
My point is this, dont get so woundup about your RX7's, I dumped a crap load of money into an FB only to find out it wasn't as competitive as a stock 3600 lb german sedan, in autocross, sure it was way faster in a straight line, but like they say straights are for fast cars, curves are for fast drivers.
On a side note, I have a Evo 9 with a cat back and cold air intake, running stock boost, pretty sure it would put bus lengths on a simliarly set up S-5 T-2, seeing as they put out 200 fly hp, and weigh in at 3,003 lbs '' page 124 in Sports Car Color History Mazda RX-7". Mazda claimed a 14.9 second quarter mile time for the 1991 T-2, "page 94 ", see I fact checked for you, instead of calling your car a bantam weight and saying how it barely makes any less horse power than an Evo
Stock Evo 9's MR weighs in at 3219, aluminum fender, hood, roof. Advantage F.C. 216 #'s lighter
Stock flywheel hp 287 Advantage Evo 87 more ponies
Runs 12.9-13.1 quarters at 105-107 mph Advantage Evo 2 whole seconds, or a few greyhounds
Dyno stock at 245- 255 awph
Too bad you live down in Oregon, cuz I kinda of bored today. Don't think I'm an Evo fan boy either, cuz that car is butt fugly, loud inside, and the interior quality is on par with a Kia, and the door are tinny, the carpet is really thin. I will probably be driving something else in less than 3 years. The kid you raced with the BOV is a retard, no one with an IQ above 50 is running an aftermarket BOV on a lightly modded evo, ecu was probably tripping ***** every time he shifted.
My point is this, love your 7's, but realize essentially you are dealing with cars that are 20 plus years old, technology has left your cars eons behind, only mazda is championing the rotary, so how much R&D money is Mazda dumping into that engine, that only goes into one of their cars. How many shops in the nw are there, one or two, real shops, with store fronts, and employees.
I can drive less than 20 miles and hit up two or three legit Evo tuners with inhouse dyno's and get an ECU flash for $300, throw on a mbc, and crank out 325 awhp all day. Your fighting an uphill battle, really uphill,. Everything you do is expensive or half custom, your stock turbos are retarded, your interheater sits on top of the motor, your exhaust cooks the bottom of the intake all day, if you get a bad tank of gas and ping the motor more than once, rebuild time. The cars are constantly chasing electical gremlins, idling up and down, up and down. hot start issues, cold start issues, always running way too rich, flood out when trying to start, chunks of carbon break loose and destroy apex seals, over heat the first warm day of summer. e.o.m.p. goes outs and takes the ecu. Yup sign me up that sounds like all kinds of fun. I figured that out 4 years ago and threw in the towel, i.e. getting schooled by a 540i, pulling motors out, best of luck, enjoy!

I know for a fact I can take an modded evo (I know he had a catback, and blowoff valve at very least) and I've more stayed on an new hatch STI's (looked bone stock) ***, for a long strech, reached HIGH speeds also, I'm not gonna say how fast due to incrimination. **** maybe they were sand bagging. But I passed the EVO everytime, I think I could of passed the STI on the top end, but there was no safe place to pass at those speeds. Maybe your just not taking it past the speed where other cars start to loose acceleration.

).. I just know that with all the mods that beckys car has i dont think it would.. I have driven a 09 sti and damn they are quick.. Well the one i drove had some good mods to the turbo and some nifty controls as well... But on paper, my car cant be over 220hp and at ?2600lbs? they got it beat with their stock 300 and around same curb weight..So really i am just going by paper.. As to the neons and hondas..

I love my sevens, but i love them for the feel, the sound, and the novelty of the motor. I am a rotor head for life, but the truth has been spoken
It takes mulitiple times the purchase price to make a T2 reliable, fast, and perform at levels of modern sports cars. You got to pay to play whether it is a bran new car or a old car for 1/10th the purchase price.
i dont have any real input on all this evo/sti talk, since i never street race.
well, only once. because i had to
raced an f360 from 60-130ish. he got the jump, and i pulled 1 car lentgh in that time. had to back off as i'm wayy paranoid about cops lol. i spent the whole race listening to his exhaust note- so glorious!

Volvo has the demolition derby all day. it just looks like a tank.
My car weighs less than stock, not much but maybe a hundred pounds give or take a few. full interior, but only the necessity's in the engine bay. No power steering, no AC, No smog pump acv.... I only kept the cruise, and twin scroll systems, everything else is gone, including the fuel relay. that stuff adds up quick.
I was just trying to tell Joe that his car could hold its own against an STI. and I didn't say evo 9 just evo. It was a evo 8 btw.
N/A rotarys Kick *** still. Can make good power, just not gonna have the torque, as turbo. especially with anything Bridgeport or larger.
Also I don't think I can have many times the amount of money into my car than purchase price. I got mine FREE. so I have infanate X the cash into it. But I have a more than a couple grand into it now, fixing and modding it. Its a money pit for sure. I've really made some killer deals, I have a sard rrfpr I got for 50, real greddy BOV also 50, Brand new apex'i N1 I got for 250, 720cc secondarys 55 bucks, FD fuel pump 50 bucks almost new, AFC neo I got for 240 a RB front sway bar traded a ps rack. Thats almost all the used performance parts I have. I have more. I have lots of new stuff, that I paid retail for also. lots of used replacement parts, tranny, turbo, LIM. Just saying I have put alot of money into making it run. and like I said, most of the times somthings wrong with it. only when Its running perfect. I'm at 90% right now, a few issues but for the most part good, still running rich as **** in boost.
Ah sorry 4 piston killer for thread jacking. Killer deal on the seals BTW.

I sooooo want to know what he is building but i only got "G14 classified" from him when i asked
honestly jinx i just dont see that being possible.. I know beckys car and yours are right about the same on mods and rebuilt motors, and i know hers cannot. Driver or car, its a loose... they have more off the line, faster in the corners and they have the hp to take us in a straight line.. Have you ever driven a sti??

He was taking it easy, trust me on that.. They are friggin monsters... I want a 99-00 2.5 rs awd and then turbo it..mmmmm... and $$$$
maybe?? IDK. he's on here. look in the "i'm setting up a drive lets do this" thread. BTW joe I got that T4 manifold and DP, once I get a turbo to rebuild, and an external waistgate. should be pretty up there in the HP's. Its not equal length but its better than it looked in the pics. equal length shouldn't matter much, since the stock mani isn't even. I heatwrapped the **** out of it. so that should make a good differance in heat on the LIM. the only thing I see being an issue is the turbo inlet will be facing the
