Key switch options?

Key switch options?
Ok, so I'm halfway through my 84 build and I realise that the "keyswitch" cover piece is busted off. I remember now the PO told me the stereo had been stolen when the car got broken into. So, what can I do to remedy this? They key will insert and turn, but a screwdriver probably would too. I'm afraid the key may fall out and the steering lock while I'm driving, or worse, some ******* sees it's busted and tries to steal it. Too buy an entire assembly is OMG! expensive and not gonna be in the budget for some time. So, anyone have any ideas? Is there any other ignition switch I could use instead?

Thats whayt I figured too
I thought of that route too, but apparently out here on the penninsula, people are keeping thier sevens. I called all the salvage yards around when I started this project, not a single seven to be found. Guess I'll have to expand my search to the Tacoma/Seattle area.

oh, check this out.... I'm going through the old vac lines from the rats nest to throw some stuff out and I peel off a wad of electrical tape........ and what do ya know, I gotta spare key. Not that I need it with this, but thought that was funny. PO musta kept a key hidden in the vac lines. LOL
