IVE HAD ENOUGH! (need opinions)

Ok. Im sick of looking at my POS rx7 right now...ive got an engine that needs to be put back together and put into my 7. I spent all last night browsing the forums and looking at proud owners' rx7s on cardomain. This put me in such a funk. I have so little motivation right now, no daily driver, and a half built engine. Its time for me (and all you other guys out there in my position) to get up off my *** and work on the car! I sat awake in bed all last night thinking about how nice it would be to have a nice, reliable way to school. I ended up getting really pissed off, which i still am at this moment. But i guess this isnt all bad, because im gonna take out all this anger (which ill put towards work) on my engine and car.

I have no job and about $150 that i can spend on my car. I dont need any more parts to finish putting back together my engine. My first priority is to put that damned engine back together so i can have the 'reliable' part of my nice and reliable car. Now, assuming that all will go well with the engine swap, what im asking of the rest of you is what i should do next. I think that i want to start doing body work and sanding my car in preperation for paint (which wont go on til later this summer...but i just cant stand the butt ugly cream color that my car is right now...so ill just go with a straight black primer until then).

WHERE SHOULD MY MONEY GO??? I need my money to go as far as possible...and im willing to put in as much effort and labor on my part to make as much out of this money as i can. Im really sick of getting bad looks when i drive around my car...and i HATE getting made fun of because my car "sounds like a lawn mower." What i really cant wait for is to get my 1/2BP engine into my car with the RB headers and an exhaust that the exhaust actually gets to the muffler.

Ok...enough bitching for now...i guess im just sorta venting because i have no time on my hands right now because baseball practice keeps going until around 730-8 every night...and i always have some other pressing matters to tend to on sundays (my only free day). I think that i might just spend all night out in the "shop" (an old barn) putting my engine back together and hoping that i did it right and that with all the reused parts (cuz im frickin broke) will work ok. Oh...and if anybody feels REALLY sympathetic...i live in Colfax, Washington (near Pullman...WSU). I would LOVE some help and company (maybe even donations...not necessarily money...maybe 7 parts?).

Anyways...thx for reading my 'bitch thread'...go ahead and yell at me...whatever you think might get me motivated...

u sound like me a few months ago man... i was so fed up with my car... it was absolutely the greatest thing when i got it started the other day.. it was such a relief... now all the other things i need to fix don't seem nearly as bad, and are definately worth waiting for... i finally got a job after 7 or 8 months of being unemployed, and got my first pay check recently, which helped me get the stuff i needed to get my 7 going, next pay check will help me get the rest of the things i need.... now that my car is so close to going i'm excited... i was seriously burned out on the whole car thing(not just the whole 7 thing, the nissan i was driving is undriveable now, due to a huge oil leak and lost bearing and lost wrist pin...) but now things are looking up... stick with it, it will be worth it when ur car is running... and when i posted the vid of my rx7 running for the first time on another forum(non car forum) i got a comment that it sounded liek some guy's lawnmower... my response was "i bet ur lawn mower will never see 200+ hp"... its always nice to be able to rub that in someones face when they make an idiotic comment like that.

I can completly relate to your troubles. Ive had my car about 6-7 years now. It will never be done. It seems Ive had more sleepless nights and more frustrating times than non frustrating times. Plenty of times Ive wanted to just give up, but its the joy they bring us when they are running right that makes up for all the troubles. Good things take time. When I first started on my car it was a mess. I was embarrassed to drive the car. It looked horrible, ran and sounded terrible. With all the bad luck thats happened were still plugging away at it.

Work on the drivablity of the car first, then the looks. Without much money, work on the things that don't cost much or any money. Then when you get a job put a few dollars into it. Im really surprized Elysian has stuck with it this long. He also has had some horrible luck.

Keep your chin up and things will work out for you. Good luck
