What type of porting too? Let me know your stats So I can compare My Hayes Rotary Engineering street port to similar port jobs! Hopefully on the drive hopefully. oh and yes I said Hayes, a 2001 port odyssey. I say that because that when they built the motor its a 6-port n/a with a so called "aggressive" street port.

Depending apon your exhaust, you can sometimes tell if the motor really is ported or not. But a overly rich idle, can give it a "lope" too.

Best way to find out if your motor is really ported or not (while not tearing it out of the car, or tearing the motor down.) would to be to pull off the intake manifolds, and run your finger inside the port. Having a stock 6 port iron right there to compare wouldn't be a bad idea. Just some ideas. What kinda exhaust do you have? CJ

Its got a RB header, presilencer corksport/apexi can. I have all documents and reicepts from the job. over $3,000 my friend payed for the engine r/r, stage 1 porting , 3mm carbon alum. apex seals and dynamic balancing. plus high volume oil pump and new raidiator. Ive always heard the stories about that shop. I dont want to start any drama. I just want to race a little up or down the mountains and or dyno my FC next weekend.. Thanks for the advice too.

Colin

No one has a running Hayes engine... LOL! Since they got shut down by the IRS in 2002 it's been the general consenious that it had to be impossible for anything Hayes built to still be running. You do know Hayes theme song don't you?

$50 says after the motor pops in a few miles, you will tear it down and find NOTHING that your friend paid for.

I have had 2 hayes motors in cars, both were blown when they got to me.
They build TRASH.
The FD one had Turbo II rotors, S5 housings, used apex seals/waterseals/everything. This was supposed to be a $3k factory rebuild....

my motors good and reliable, for now

anyone interested in a thread that records my hayes rebuilt/streetported/3mm carbon sealed engines health status... we can bet on how long before i have exhaust/oil in my coolent system!! its got roughly 20k miles. Ill update this thread in time. I haven't dyno'd it but I think its makin 175 hp and it barely smokes when its cold and always starts right up. I say 175 hp since I have raced a couple 350+hp Fd's
and let me tell you what...those fd's were twice as fast as me!!

I had a 12a that leaked nothing and was always reliable, drove it for four years.
Engine blew at idle....

yes, you can check through the ehxuast port and see the size of the seals. it might be a lil tricky to measure but im sure u can get creative.
