I feel for you, and wish you best of luck with getting help with your grandparents. Do they not have any income? I know that there's lots of resources out there for help, such as food stamps, etc... but honestly things are tough right now I think for everyone with the economy with people losing their jobs, struggling themselves. Maybe try posting this on craigslist, or finding some of those resources.

Good luck

I understand your concerns and worries. I really can't help in any way other than a few dump runs and that depends on the amount of money they are going to cost. What are you throwing away. Make sure nothing is collectable or pawnable. I understand that money is needed by everyone now.

Brett,
Most people probably aren't responding because like me, they can offer no help. Rest assured most here feel for you, but things are shitty everywhere right now. I've spent the better part of the last year working for half pay/half credit. I have a wife and 3 kids living with me and another that doesn't, and my Grandpa passed Sunday morning. I scrambled non stop and bust my *** just to keep my family fed and bills mostly paid. I'm the first to give a guy the shirt off my back, but now I'd have to take away from my own family to help. That I can't do. I hope all works out for you and your grandparents, but don't take peoples lack of response as a lack of caring. It's one thing to ask for help, another to expect it.

I'm super broke at the moment, but I'll keep you posted when an oppertunity to make a couple bucks pops up.

Brett,
So do your grandparents have any income at all? Maybe, they should apply for disability, or apply with your local human resource department, for some moneys, food stamps, and medical. It's not much income, but its something.

As for a washer, the best place to look is on craigslist. There's always tons of stuff under the free section. I'm sure you will find one on there. I've even given a washer and dryer away on there. As for a vehicle, that's a tougher one to come up with. Do they have garbage service where you live? I know there's resources that will help low income families pay for stuff like Electricity, Water, Sewer, Garbage, food, and probably transportation.

I'd help a bit also, but were in the same boat as most, with this economy, taking pay for half of what you should be paid for, and layoffs.

I'm more than happy to look up, and help direct you to some of the resources out here in your area if you would like. That I can probably do.

Well, with you going to Basic training, AIT, you will be able to send them money at least. Being there, you won't have any need to spend money.

Again good luck, and let me know if you would like me to look up some of those resources for you.

How old are your Grandparents if you don't mind me asking? Hopefully everything picks up again for everyone affected by this economy. I'm thinking its going to get a lot worse before it picks up again.

Sorry to hear about your Grandpa installer67. I hope things pick up for you also.

we are on food stamps and the get their disability but they barely get enough for the rent/power ..they get like 800 between the both of them rent is like 575 water is 25(stupid park owner is makin the tenants pay for the well repairs) then power we got screwed on cause the tweeker neighbors were stealing our power
and after their senior discount thing it was like 150 as as far as food stamps we get 180 for the 3 of us which is total bs!!!and my next door neighbor let me run a 50 ft cat5 cable to my place from his for internet(shhh dont tell comcast lol)

and ive been searching cl far a washer and a car for my gramma but no luck so far

o and my grammas 56 but shes got major back probs and my grandpas 80 (ya i know big age difference lol they have been together for like 30 years so ya lol)

Sorry to hear dude. Wish I could help but I'm in the middle of downsizing, have to put a bunch o stuff in storage and rent a room from someone. Not excited. I have an older washer and a dryer that you could have but I can't help with delivering and in not exactly close to you. Hang in there and keep choppin your feet. I've been feelin the same way for a while now, it will get better eventually.
