Has anyone seen this Montego Blue FD for sale in WA?

Im looking at purchasing this lower mileage (70k) manual, tan interior, 1995 Montego Blue FD.
The catch is that its online.

According to DMV it changed owners in august 2007 to the second owner

this second owner only had it for two months (which probably isnt a good sign)

the next owner (third) is trying to sell it to me after only having had it for nine months

its pretty cheap and the price includes delivery, so before I jump into a bear trap...

~ Maybe I am being paranoid but it also doesnt hurt to ask an independant source

I was looking through your spotted thread and I can see you guys are on point with picking 7's out so I figured Id ask you guys. All I have is the dmv info and thats for:

Washington Motor Vehicle Dept.
Richland, WA

If you guys got any info or happen to think you may know of the condition of the car Id appreciate it.

Thanks

Give us a link or something to the car. There have been a few scams around here lately using FD's as bait but this one doesn't ring a bell for Richland.

Well maybe you can find someone in Richland to take a look at it for you? Search Linder Power Systems... Maybe he'd be willing to check it out for you.

I know there's a Montego FD right next to me here in Kent,
the guy lives (or is frequently at) a house here on James ST.
I have never seen it for sale, but it's been gone the last few
weeks. Possibly the same one?

There isnt a link anymore, unfortunately. However the info I do have is the email subject line which is the only thing that has any tangibly descriptive data of the seller:

"Re: Owner 62963049: AutoTrader.com: Vehicle Lead 1995 Mazda RX-7"

I wonder if I contact autotrader I can find out something about the person selling...

Did MONKMAN sell his MB 95 FD ? Do you happen to know when he sold it ?? Because I can verify if it is his or is not based on the date it was retitled....or if its him selling it? anyone know his real name?

well supposedly this person selling it, had a buyer originally. So the DAS truck came picked it up and wouldnt you know it backed out, however theres a twist to this story.

The owner trying to sell it had to move to hawaii for work, so now the seller is living there and the car is being held by DAS in a warehouse in Williamsburg, VA.... as I suppose there is nowhere to drop it off to in the states and I think fees for getting it shipped to Hawaii would probably be unreasonable.

Im not in any rush whatsoever because obviously with this hairbrained situation its looking pretty sketchy and im not about to toss my cash out the window to some fool just asking for it.

The idea behind the transaction is that it will be performed through ebay, how im not exactly sure as of yet. I guess according to the sellers understanding ebay will hold the money until I approve that the car is as stated.
In essence the seller says through this particular transaction the car will be delivered and I have 5 days to determine if the car is satisfactory. If it isnt as described the car will be picked up with all "delivery charges forwarded back to the seller" and the money will be sent back to me from ebay

I havent seen the car in person, the ad was off autotrader a few days before I got a response and I cant get details from the vin other than carfax.

edit: I just contacted autotrader waiting to hear back if they have any info on the owner....

that has scam written all over it..... way too many locations, way too many parties involved....

it's in richland, WA, no it's in SC, but the owner is in HI, uh.... the shipper has it.... ebay will coordinate it, uh.......
what's next? I call BS on it from miles away!

I don't know if it is MONKMAN's FD he is thinking of, just that that is the only other 95' FD owner that is in my state that posts on here every now and then.

yea so its been two days and i havent heard anything back yet from them...

I called DAS with the name and they said that they "dont hold cars for anyone" but in those particular circumstances i really doubt theyd risk shipping it anywhere without confirmation of where to ship it to

seeing as how the person moved anyway...

Autotrader also hasnt replied to my inquiry for information on the Seller with that I.D. so they might not be any help i guess.

man... I want and FD again this sucks.
