OR Found my old car on CL. Need advice on getting it back!

http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/2559358791.html

That's my old vert. So since the title was transferred, I'm assuming my signature was forged in order to transfer the title, either by my ex, or by the person who owns it. So guys what should I do to get her back? I tried calling the guy, I left a voicemail acting like I was interested, and TBH, I don't have the money right now to buy it outright from the guy. Need any and all advice possible.

You should have originaly files a police report documenting that you never released interest and that it was stolen, then all you would do now is call the cops so they could go round it up. did you file a report?

There is more to the story that he is not telling us, any normal person would have called the police and filed a report already.

I mean, ever more than that. Like he really never owned the car, or it's in his dad's name, or something else wonky is going on here.

Ya I read some of the original thread, No police report your screwed. The ex girlfriend probably still has it and is just posting that stuff to mess with him or something.

I actually got whole of the guy who owns it, and we worked something out. I gave him the run down of the story, and he was more than happy to work with me on it. As for you guys claiming something "wonky" is going on, all of the story was posted in another thread. The reason I never filed a report is because I live in Phoenix until November, and I wqs under the impression you couldn't file from out of state.

Glad you're working something out. I hope it includes a written statement from him so you can bring it in and FILE A POLICE REPORT... Duh

Congrats on (maybe) getting your 7 back too

So then, I can still go in a file a report? Isn't it too late? If it's not, I will definitely file one at this point.

Just tell them you had no idea what had really happened, but now that you have confirmation as to what happened to the car and how she sold it, you want to press charges against her

Ya if the title was in both of your names and you never signed it, then she forged your signature. I would call the cops and tell them everything that has happened. They or you should be able to get a copy of the original title and I bet the signature is a POS and they will be able to tell its not yours.
