WA Fd3s help in the lynnwood area?!?!

Hi Im Gleb, Alot of you in the drift scene probably know me, I compete in a Baby Blue Blister Kitted 180 with a 420hp built Sr20. Well i just got a new 13b-rew for my FD street car and got done making all the block off plates and did all the non sequential mods to the turbo, i have a brand new oem wiring harness. And the swap is about 85% done motor is in the car and everything, i just need help figuring out where some stuff plugs in and just finishing up little stuff, because i want to get the car ready to drift this saturday at PGP, if anyone is down to help me today please call me 425-760-7339, ill buy some beers or lunch or whatever. Im just looking for someone who knows there way around FD's cuz this is my first time working on a rotary lol.

thanks
-Gleb

But if you got everything all setup, go ahead and run her till she blows something. Sorry to say, but there is almost no chance you will be ready for Saturdays drift event if you have no wiring done and have yet to even start it. Most of the plugs can only plug into 1 thing, just lay the harness over the engine and they will fall where they need to go. Also, you say it's new? You really need to wear it in. Bouncing off rev limiters at a wet second gear track is not going to make it happy at all.

Since this is your first time using rotary, thinking that it is 85% done, means it is 20% done. Not saying you are a bad mechanic by any means, but there is a good chance something will not be right and will require a day or tinkering to get it fixed. Sneaky vacuum leaks/idling, charging problems, boost controlling, clutch, computer/wiring...sadly so many things can go wrong.

The best of luck to you though! I really do hope you prove me wrong, I really want to see another 7 out there! Today is the only day I can change my oil and check over everything before the event or else I would help you.

Youre only problem is you need to buy my downpipe. I would come help if I had a car but unfortunately I do not. Good luck at PGP if you run the blistered beast. I should be over there for a while.

Take a picture of what you think might not be right. Or just try to explain it, most of us know our engine bays by heart and have nightmares in our sleep of engine bays. (or is that just me?)

There is really no problem trying to start it, either it will not start (something really wrong), blow fuses or not even turn over (wiring), start but die or idle horrid (vac leak or blown apex), or be fine (buy a lotto ticket). As long as you don't go romp on it, you should be fine to start and idle to check you stuff.

ok so i made lots of progress this past couple days, got the car to fire up and idle for a second or 2, but i can't get it to idle for some reason. I need to double check on the firing order again, and for some reason the fuel pump wont turn on so i hard wired it for now. One question i had is the ECU the car originally had is smaller then the one i got with this motor set. and the new ECU i got has a little wire coming off of the ECU itself with a plug that the original ECU didn't have, i can't find out where this plug goes too. and there is 2 plugs around the ECU area where i don't know where they go, i think one might be for the gauges because those aren't lighting up. If someone can come out and help me i would love you so much! its basically done just need to put the hood on and the car can drive!!! 425-760-7339 i get out of class at 9:30 tomorrow morning and gonna be free all day, if someone can come help me out tomorrow ill buy you lunch. please!!! anyone?!

thanks in advance

In all seriousness again you are most likely about 50% done now. Just keep plugging away at it. Make sure you have NO vac leaks by pressuring your intake with the engine off, and spray soapy water all over your engine. (especially around the injectors) Also make sure your fuel lines are going to the correct line. Double check that your injectors are plugged in correctly too, I screwed that up twice, promising myself I wouldn't do that again after the first time. XD

ok so big update i finally drove the car! wow its fast haha, so Ryan Henson a local rotary Boss came up on saturday and we fired this thing up. For some reason as soon as we put the original ECU the smaller of the two, which i beileve is the manual one its started right up

still gotta wire up the fans so they are on a switch and fix a couple small things but for the most part she is good to go!

oh and i can't figure out why my gauges don't work? anyone?

Now the fans ussually come on at a fairly high temp on the fd stock. I dont remember seeing ac so u can uussually trick them into coming on if u turn the ac on. Havtn really researched on. Whats up with the gauges tho

with the mods the car has you NEED some form of fuel management. Power fc id a good one since its just plug and play. Fd are notorious for blowing up real fast with too many mods on the stock ecu

Truth spoken. Modding FD's can be disastrous if you don't have experience with them. Thinking knowledge on other cars will transfer will get u into trouble even quicker. Take the advise here very seriously.
