i can see no gain in swaping to a FD trany. The turbo FC tranny is very strong. arguably the strongest rx7 trany made

Get a supernow SuperFC transmission kit from RHDjapan. Lets you use the FD transmission.

The only real reason why to go FD transmission is because of the younger age. A properly rebuilt TII transmission would suffice, if not be better than a FD transmission. I would also point out that if you were to use the FD transmission only for the sol-purpose of using a "sequential" shifter, you might be quite disappointed. There are several sequential kit shifters out there for FD application. But they still require the use of the clutch and there for is not a true sequential shift transmission. Units like the Ikeya Sequential Shift only converts the H patter to forward and backward. Also Sequential Gear boxes are using dog teeth syncros, and can take a beating from the constant direct shift. Which is not a set up for any of the factory rx7 gearboxes. Of course that doesn't stop people from doing it, it does lose a fraction of a second of each shift, which equates to faster laptimes. but you have also cut the lifespan of the transmission in half. I would only say yes to Sequential shift kits for full on track ready racecars. The transmissions last as long as the motors unless reinforced or regeared which is pricey.

i truelly do under stand where ur coming from and no it is not a tII motor in front of it, it is a rew, when i lost my license i went ape **** on my car and ended up making it right hand drive and putting in the rew that is getting ready to have a large street port done to it as we speak, as for the sequential shifter and not a dog box tranny i also under stand that to i have dog box trannys in both my drag bikes, there hard to get in gear and very annoying i just want the sequential shifter for more of the less to be different around here nobody has it and just something to say that i have and yes i am young but not truelly stupid, i have found wat the big piece is for as u said and as for the smaller piece it is for the tII bellhousing to bolt on to the fd tranny

I agree with you guys. FD tranny just isn't worth it. Save your pennies and do it the right way.

If you understand and have educated yourself in this matter, and that you accept the risk and responsibility that comes with it. I see no reason why you shouldn't do whatever you want to do. As a suggestion, i would look into using the TII transmission case and retrofitting a Sequential shift kit, it would probably save you money and be unique on its own to be one of very few TII trannies in the world to have a +1200 sequential shift conversion done to it without using +$10k Dogbox kits.
