Fast & Furious tonight?

Anyone else going to the special preview of the new "Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift" tonight in Portland? Some promotion company sent us passes, so Rob and I and a couple others are going to see it. I love a comedy! Particularly if I don't have to pay for it.

Just wondering who else might be there...

I read that they had to shave off the tread on the rear tires of the Veilside Fd to even get it to drift.

Anyways, naa, my roomate will just rip it off the internet. I'll watch it at home where I can skip the bullshit drama and just enjoy the drifting.

Awesome. This is going to be one of the worst movies ever, but I have to see it since there are cars in it...

Well, I have to say it was actually not the worst movie ever made. Caddyshack II still holds the title, followed by the original F&F (I never saw the second one). Certainly a great deal about it was funny but some of that was actually intentional. I would even call it entertaining.

For a movie of this kind, you have to accept the ****-movie rules: the plot exists to get you from one action sequence to the next and the action bears little resemblance to real life. Once you get that straight, you can enjoy it for what it's worth...not a lot, but probably at least the cost of admission.

Since I paid nothing and my expectations were ZERO, I can honestly say it was better than expected and I'm not sorry I went. There are worse movies. And there are better movies that are less entertaining.
