Evergreen Drift - Round 1 Championship - April 26th

Evergreen Drift - Round 1 Championship - April 26th

The time is upon us - The start of Evergreen Drift’s 5 round season championship.

Be there on Sunday 4/26 to watch the season kickoff for the 2nd annual championship series.

Drivers will test their skills and battle for points on the road to becoming the Evergreen Drift Champion.

Event Info //

* Date - 4/26/09
* More Info: http://evergreendrift.com
* Location - Evergreen Speedway at the fairgrounds in Monroe, WA
* Drifting from 11am to 5pm
* Pit gate opens at 9am and close at 12pm
* Drivers - $100
* Pit pass - $30
* Grandstands - $10 (Kids under 12 Free!)

Full driver information is on the Registration Page. - http://www.evergreendrift.com/registration/

Last year Victor Moore provided the consistent high quality runs required to become the 2008 champion and earn an invite to the Formula Drift ProAm qualifier in Long Beach.

This year the talent is better than ever, the cars are more extreme, and the action will be more intense with changes to the competition format.

Changes for this year include:

Two Classes >
// 5/8th class - Tandem battles on the full sized FD course. 80 MPH 4th gear entry speeds and no room for mistakes with the best drivers in the Northwest gunning for ProAm glory.

// 3/8ths class - This class gives all skill levels a chance to compete. If you can pass tech you have a shot at winning. For those who do not have a cage and cannot tandem our Pseudo Tandem elimination format allows all drivers the opportunity to compete head to head in bracket eliminations with a shot at the podium.
// Top 32 Tandem - We are expanding from top 16 to top 32 bracket eliminations. That means more head to head competition and a bigger gauntlet for the top guns to reach the podium.

When the tire smoke settles trophies, cash, and product certificates will be awarded to the top 4 finishers and top qualifier in each class.

Stay tuned for additional announcements on EvergreenDrift.com:
  • Purse amount details
  • 2009 Evergreen Drift Rules
  • 2009 Evergreen Drift Competition Rules

DRIVERS>

Due to the low turnout for the 5/8th's so far this round will be 3/8ths only.

And don't you fret - You will get plenty of runs and a chance to win the purse. Up to 32 drivers will make the first tandem elimination rounds so everyone gets a taste of bracket elimination action. If we finish early it's open exhibition drift time!

Don't miss this chance to snipe competition points from all the slackers that don't have their car done!

sick event. tandem was intense and the 12a fb was ripping it up. went head to head with a ls1 240sx and had to run 3 extra rounds because it was to close to call. pretty sick

yeah Brendon and Garret's 12a must have been at least 160whp that thing hauled ***. They deffinently could have worked the rest of the field if they were driving the other peoples built cars
Went for a drive after then event with him running a dump off the header. 1st-3rd pulled real hard, way harder then I remember my 12a doing ahaha.

Round 2 is May 17th, let it be known. I will be posting a new thread soon. Thanks for coming out, hope to see more RX7's out there this summer!

Is he the one with the yellow 5 on the rear driver's window? If so I passed him up this morning in my 85 corolla. Also see his car alot at BCC in the parking garage. \

=P that red 240 had a wicked crash. Saw the rear bumper slide out at the initation of the dirft. Then the rear back tire when flying off to the barrier hitting then flying about 50 feet in the air. The car slid to a stop in the grassy ditch. I was there with Drift office Bob, I think the first words outa his mouth was something to the effect of, (tech inspection is very important.) Was a good first round, was hoping to see Earl take first but Drift Safari Skyline stole the win from Victor Moore. <--- (he was doing awesome all day)

That was Jay lollor, he is an old skool honda guy. He is a nice guy and a big car nut. He has the 10 second EF hatch that runs up at mission all the time with Kyle statama.
