very easy. Just pull off the whole wheel assembly, find the right sockets, and pound em out/in. Have fun. Took me 30 mins max.

just like that?

i had a shop do a full bushing install for me, and some other things, they wanted 200 something bucks just to install the DTSS eliminator bushings alone. i was like....no. do the rest, but dont do those. Is it really that easy? is there a write up somewhere around here?

haha why do people always think they are so hard. Take your wheel off, take off your brakes, take off the hub, get a socket the size of the DTSS, get a hammer, and knock em out. Then get a socket BIGGER than the DTSS and put it on the other side, and tap the elims back in. Reverse install. Drive without massive/random fishtails.

$200! haha I hope that came WITH the new DTSS elims! And you're pretty lazy for having a shop do ANYTHING to your car.

Ya shouldn't be too bad I am doing my bushing swap right now and it takes some time on mine. The old rubber bushings are stuck on the insides being 20 yrs old so I had to use a dremel to get it nice and smooth. Just make sure you get the eliminators in the right way.

I wouldn't recomment pounding them out and in. It's easier to have them pressed in and out. Just take everything off, take the whole hub to midas or whoever has a press. Tell them to press them out/press new ones in, come home and install. Just getting everything apart might take awhile

I just did the DTSS, poly suspension bushings, rear wheel bearings and ARP wheel studs with a press, it made the job tons(like 12) easier..... special thanks go to a fellow forum member for loaning me the press...

a press is a tool i will own eventually now that I've had a chance to try it out.

i am lazy when it comes to the bushing install. Well worth the money to save me the headache of doing that myself. The shop can do it faster and get my car back on the road quicker than i could, also, they have the correct tools that i prolly dont own. so dont be so quick to judge there buddy.

Have you ever driven an FC with brand new suspension? with brand new DTSS bushings? Do you know how they are suposed to work? Your sig seems pretty ignorant.

Harbor freight is a good place to pick up a press. I got a H frame 12 ton for like 120.

Nope, and I nor have you. Well never mind, maybe you did pay the ridiculously high price for new stock DTSS replacements. O.o

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...highlight=dtss I have done my research ( so don't be so quick to judge there buddy)

That should answer all your questions about why dtss kills, and not even you ( an awesome rx7 racer ) take advantage of dtss (so you eliminated it instead of replacing with stock). The fact is all our cars are 20 years old and almost all dtss bushing are going to be bad. Remove them, before something happens (example : hydroplaning in a corner) where you fishtail out of control and crash.

P.S. You life seems pretty ignorant. Go pay someone else to fix your car.

they also have a really small(6 ton?) one that goes on sale for ~$60-80 I think it's kind-of a bench top model.

I definitly did. The rear will feel like its INSIDE your front when you turn haha. You will completly lose the whole rx7 feel, and that will be sad at first. But then you will notice how much more control and predictable the car is and you will smile.
