Darn oil injectors!

Hey guys..

How do I get those darn engine housing oil injectors off.....
I found the old thread in the second gen tech about it and picked up a set of the powerbuilt tools at Shucks [which appeared to be the right size......]

but I can only get the darn wrench on half way [of course a useless halfway wherein I can pull it off by exerting ANY horizontal force ~_~]

I don't have a bench grinder...

[I'm trying to rebuild the oil injector lines.... and my hacksaw doesn't saw very well with 1" of clearance to cut those wing things..]

Vice grips FTW. If there is a harbor freight by you, they have 4&1/2" angle grinders for $10-$20. BTW Premix > Working OMP

Yea there's a habor freight ~15 min. away..

and premix..... Would be nice - if it weren't destined to be a DD ^_-
DD+Premix=PITA... [not to mention I already spent $30 on the oil line rebuild pieces..]

Well I guess I'll borrow the vice grips from work [normal ones are too wide just like everything else ~_~] I'm still not sure if those will work even..

Ok I *finally* got an answer from Marc

basically:
To remove the engine housing oil injectors, take a big vice grip, lock it on the big fat part of the injector and pop it loose by hitting the vice grip with your hand.

By the way, don't try the powerbuilt wrenches.. they're the closest I could find but still no good on it. if you have a source for cheap 14mms and a bench grinder you can try that - but I'm just saying, the big vice grips will actually work.

FWIW I don't consider premix a problem or hassle with a DD, I was filling up 2 times a week and premixing in my DD. The only downside is a stinky storage box. 32 oz was only ~$2.50. Anyways good job on the vice grips.

hehe thanks.

Yea.. I wouldn't mind so much if I weren't always in a hurry [darn college complicating everything :P] ..I kinda like the oil and gas smells most of the time actually but just too much hassle for me. [Plus I could never let anyone else drive it for fear that they would put gas in.. sadly ironic that statement]

Well, hopefully I can get the car fired up this weekend! ^_^ [10 months is long enough for this project :P]

i must concur visegrips ftw. i use the omp and also run 1/2 the required amount of 2 stroke per every fill up, cant go wrong with double lubrication
