Damn This HEAT!! (swapping motors)

Ive been outside since noon putting my motor back in the car and hooking up wiring ect. it is F****in hot. My arms are burnt. Havent eaten yet.

now thats some dedication haha. atleast to me it is. I normally wouldnt do anythig like this but the passion is deff there.

Ive got two issues at the moment. wondered if anyones got any ideas.

currently the precat off the header is removed. so now im stuck trying to wedge the precat inbetween the header and the other cat...i reeeeealllllyy do not want to remove the whole exhaust to put this stupid thing on..annd its only a one man team. any ideas? thought maybe i could jack the exhaust up so give more leverage.

also. I am in DESPERATE need for a fuel level sensor. I have no idea how much gas i have and i premixed whats in the tank. Since my omp is being rebuilt right now. Im gonna run the tank close to empty then intall the omp so i dont flood my car with oil.

the exhaust issue you seem to see isnt much of an issue. with the rubber hangers you should be able to push/pull it enough to slip the precat in. its going to take a lot of effort, so you might wanna do this first thing in the morning or wait till it cools off so you dont kill yourself.

yea i knew what you meant. hmmm. well maybe take a couple of the hangers off at the muffler prolly one on either side then take one off at the y pipe where there is one on either side. right behind the main cat. this should allow enough wiggle room. if not take the hangers completely off the mufflers and just leave the 2 by the cat. its help up in the rear by a metal wire so it shouldnt fall all the way. see if that helps any

Alright. Will do.

DO you know how long or if at all exhaust tape will last?

its just a small hole the size of a paper puncher.(3 ring binders)
i have several along my exhaust.

Looking for something to quiet down the car and stop the heat and gases from comin up thro the shifter since my boots are torn.

i've never personally used that stuff. so i know nothing about it. when i spring a leak i fix it up with the welder. but since the exhaust is like 20 years old you'll be chasing down holes all day. i wouldnt even worry about it. and the stock exhaust isnt the quietest to begin with. its really hard to muffle the noise these beasts create lol./

Once you get it together bring it by and we'll sort out the small stuff like the boot and such. I saw some stuff in the Lowes Roofing section that looks promissing as a boot repair. It looks like a giant shifter boot for pipes and such.

YA kno what nick. I hate you. NOw i dont wanna go outside... lol
yeah, its gonna be a hot summer this year.

Alright will do. Ive got everything together motor wise. All thats left is putting my precat back in and doing some last minute checks before i put the radiator and air intake back in.

I still havent gotten around to buying a new throttle cable since the wife unit wants to use the money at formula D haha. Im hoping if i baby the throttle i should be ok.

ALright meat bags i need some insight lol.

My dilemma. Fresh Rebuild. Have Spark. Compression. Fuel. My timing is slightly off but weve been playing with it getting closer.

i understand the initial startup on a rebuild is supposed to be a pain in the *** but what else should i try?

ive put mmo in plugs to increasse compression and sorta wanted to work. we push started 5 times and got it to sputter a bit then die.

what else is left?
