Exclamation crap... Boost creep issues... Help!?!

So i think i know what to do about this, but i thought i would ask just in case i am thinking this is the problem and i am wrong.. (although i think i should anyways)

My wife's car has been holding at stock 5lbs boost under normal driving conditions. Under heavy conditions it creeps up to 8-10lbs.. However for the past few times driving it (and this seems really to only happen in 4th when shifting down to pass at half throttle) it has crept up to 15lbs (and yes when i saw that i crapped myself and cut it instantly)... So far its ok, but i fear the inevitable......

So what do i do about this?? Port the waste gate?? This is all i can think to stop it? Ideas?

Pull the turbo and port it as much as possible, or go crazy and ream it out and weld on a new flapper.

I ported mine and it nearly solved my boost creep issue, but still would creep a little. Also might want to get an RTEK chip as it pulls timing 1 degree per psi above 9psi and has some other nice features..

Its not like porting a motor. Just make the hole(s) bigger, no need for a steady hand.

remember Joe? i had the SAME issue with my BRAP BRAP... you need to port the wastegate... Your 3" exhaust is allowing the turbo to spin faster = flow more... and your stock size waste has not changed... thus the problem...
Well... I guess if you just stuffed a potatoe in the exhaust your boost creep issues would be fixed and it would probably sound stock again.. lol

you can also put a restricter in after the Down pipe. just a 1/8" thick peice that has a 2.5" hole and use it sort of like a gasket. You have a S5 turbo if I remember right. so there's 2 holes, port to just a hair before the edge of the flappers, then ream out the inside as big as you can. bigger than the outside holes.

If you have an S-5 turbo you can also relieve some metal from the backing plate, so that the w.g. arm opens further. quick and easy and you dont have to remove the turbo.

Joe... just pull the down pipe and the backing plate and attack the plate with a grinder to allow the wastegate to open further. If you actually crept up to 15psi, I would guess that you have a vacuum line missing from the actuator, or a crack in one.

i am going to spend thurs and friday attacking the turbo set up and going to try to do all that has been suggested....

The only other problem with the car is i cant get the heater to work.. The hvac (the dash controls) is working fine, the lines are feeding the heater core, its not leaking, the blower motor is working and all heater settings are functioning properly but no hot air?? Ideas??

clogged heater core, or the flap to open the door isn't working.

You can look behind the dash on the Driverside by the gas pedal (uncomfortable position I know) and you can manually open the valve/flapper to the heater, this is how I turn my heater on and off. Its like a rod, moves up and down.. Could be the air mix motor?
