why mechanical? just seems like a waste of time, they switched to electronic for a reason, carb it or run EFI, easy enough decision

OK frist up where is graciously?

Mechanical fuel injection, well it's got to be one of the best workng and proven systems ever put to gethere, and at the time I started this porject when most of you guys where in grade school this was the only system that could be adopted, there where no kits. And I wanted power so a duel system was put to gether

Don't you have a Jetta forum to go post on. I'm sure you can read all about Mechanical fuel injection on VW forums. Sounds like you have alot to learn about MFI and how the its benifits on some applications can far outweight those of the electronic system.

Well today is Tuesday and we are going to hit on the subject of fuel orings and the rite type to use. I know that there are some peaple at that will go out to there hardware store and pick up one of them asserted boxes of orings, (Wrong) go OEM and git the rite ones, make sure that the matting serfaces are clean and use planty of lub, they don't seem to hold up very well to sharp egese, and ease them in to place.

Next item Robert is the head bottle washer here at Bob's place, and he's good not only on Mazdas but other Japanes cars, so other cars that need some attention are welcomed

i dont know much about MFI i do know that car manufactures arent gona waste tons of money designing and testing a new systems if they dont offer any improvements. but instead of just telling me to go to a VW forum why dont you inlighten me instead of just spouting off smart *** remarks

Today is Wednesdy and it sounds like we have a bitch reply going ( I like It ) well it would take along time to get any one up to speed on ele vs mechanical fuel injection so lets not fight over it. What it realy came down to is that it could be pulled from a juk yard and trans planted with little problems and dues I have a system that cost 50$ or less and doesn't need a lap top to tage along.

On to more pressing matters, frist up lets meet some of the staff, pic one is Robert head bottle washer, pic two is Keven hard working person trying to get on the bottle list, pic 3 some of the R7's that are here in need of fixen, pic 4 is how some of the cars get here in there time of need. So yes the guys here at Bob's Place would like very much to help any body with what ever problem that may come across for an body out there. O did I did not say they also have fab machine subport. So come on down

OK, fuel system ( Bosch K-Jetronic )

Next item on the block, it's Thursday at Bob's Place and I got a real nice pic ofa I think 79 RX7 that Robert is working, a little ele problem with the headlites not popping and the fuse blowing each time the heater was turned on. We will start with the headlites, as I watched Robert just fly through testing the system and come up with nothing more then a relay with poor contacts, a little sand paper to the points and away it was working onecs more. The heater was a little more involed turns out some one had used the same power suply as the heater for an afther market radeo the radeo had a falt and kept blowing the heater fuse. Once agen he got through the problem with no efert ( I know some of you out there realy get off on my spellen ) So bring your cardown for any kind of fixen it may need

Monday at Bob's Place, Mark brought his red 91 convertable in has litle prblem with his haed lites, the pass an go high beams dont seem to want to work. He has already tryed a ECM but that didnt fix it. So todayI went through the system with Robert's help, frist testing the relay and the cercut back to the ECM and that works just fine and dandy, next the the switch on the colum back to the Ecm and that works. So it seems that the 2# Ecm that Mark put had mit be a falt, keeping mind that the ECMwill only cicly when all the all the rite inputs have been met. In short something els is not or is turned on or off, door lock, E brake and the list may go on. If this is the problem the oly way to icesolate the problem would be to come up with a 91 same modle 7 and xchange ECMs. I do think so one out there in RX7 land mite know the anser, I will be post a generl quiston across the forum. Thank you Mark for keeping one nice good looking 7

Actually guys its CPU, Central Processing Unit. It controls blinkers, headlights, dimmer switch hazards and a few others. It is the one located just behind the interior fuse panel on an fc, just to the left of the dead pedal.

Tuesday at Bob's place. And once more Robert and Keven are up to there necks with a problem child, a 1st gen 12a that is haveing a vaper lock problem. Well that's what the has been owner says. The car will run just fine for a unknown time and with out warnning just quit running. Yes I know the gang of two seem to be aways on top of things, but I think a little back seat driven on my part is neded. My thinking is don't listen to evey one like the past owner just start with finding out is cousing the car to die. Start with spark yes or no, fuel yes or no, and that's all there is just about on a carb system. So the rest of you guys out there how about some back seat driven feed back

Today is Wednesday and another day at the shop. Today I worked on Bob'a RX-3 wagon. It has a S3 12A with a healthy streetport. Only problem was it had a stock RX-3 Nikki Carb on it missing a few important parts. I went ahead and put one from an RX-XII on there that we had on a shelf in the warehouse that has been rebuilt. After installing the new Removing a few not so needed emmisions parts, I modded the TB for mechanical secondary throttles, and replaced the old throttle cable with one in much better shape. When the III first came into the shop the returnline was blocked off. I will be adding one tomarrow as well as installing an accellorator pedal and a few other things. Here is a picture of the car. Some of you may remember it from the thread earlier this year when Bob sent Kevin and I down to L.A. to pick it up. A real beauty this one is.

I don't know if you've seen it since it was red.

Black with gold metal flake; lambo'd; 6-speed; Ron Davis radiator; Granny's LS1 kit.

I've got a plastic LS1 engine replica (which is a little easier to move in and out of the engine bay than the aluminum LS1 block and heads).

Impress you friends with you massive strength when you lift the LS1 block and heads with one arm.
