Bad News/Good News
The Bad News: This morning as I left the garage I noticed it had been cold overnight, there was frost everywhere.
Pulled out into the street, looked clear. Got a block away and there was some slush, tapped the brakes and weaved from side to side a bit - felt ok.
Another block goes by, I turn right, or rather, begin a right turn.
I never finished the turn, as the entire intersection was solid ice. Car wouldn't turn, I whacked the curb with the left front wheel and pushed it back 2 inches in to the fender well.
The Good News: It wasn't the 7, it was the Miata.
If you can ever call wrecking a sports car good news.

That's not good, might be a little spendy though. I had a similar problem with my Jeep TJ. Had to replace the front axle. I think it was $2K.
So far I haven't seen ice yet in the Willamette Valley. Been lucky so far this winter.

Thanks guys, crashing any car is no fun at all.
The total lack of control on the ice was rather frustrating.
Rather than trying to fix this myself, I filed a claim with my insurance and had it towed to Kadel's Auto Body in Hillsboro. I barely have time to work on my FD, much less fix the Miata.
No frame damage, but all front left side control arms, tie rods, tire and wheel need to be replaced. Fortunately, a matching wheel and tire are still available.
Here's a pic of the wheel. Notice it appears a little far back in the wheel well.
Hard to tell from the picture, but the wheel is rather bent.
I guess I'm driving the F250 for a few days.
