I own a Z and was planning on possibly getting an FD and no one I know owns one.

I don't need to drive it but I would like to just ride in one. If anyones willing I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
I'm sure someone would do it.

I'm sure I could probably do so, provided I am able to bring it out as I plan.

Chris-
I, for one, have no problem having the meet at a dealership, thanks for stepping up & explaining your side! you may have to work, but at least you'll get to attend!

secondly, it's actually low-cost PR that the dealership has some control over... a BBq & car show on their own premises is cheap in comparison to paying to sponsor many other events or even advertising...

Thanks for the support. I will try to make sure that none of the sales guys try to pitch you anything new. I can't say they wont but I will tell them to just enjoy the cars and not try to sell anything. I want this to be a fun event for everyone so that we might be able to do something similar in the future.

we can take care of all the food and drinks. The important thing is that we just need to have a number of cars so we know what kind of space is required and a number of people so we know how much food we should buy.

Cool

Chris as the event gets closer you might want to start on the specifics on how this will work and share it with the group.
1.Need to have a planned entrance and exit for the cars and a guide to assign spaces.
2.Any dress code? This is a place of business and some peeps might need a hint on what not to wear......LOL!
3.Folding chairs ok?
4.Repost all the information as the time gets closer: Date, time to showup with car, where to enter, check in?, time of when to vacate the premises.
5.Do you need volunteers to help with setup/teardown?
6.The most important piece of information........where is the Potty!!!!!!

Just things to think about, the difference between a good and bad event is Planning and communication.

Look forward to the meet.

Lloyd

Hey Tim,
Thanks for giving the heads up for me. I should be there. I would love to see 10 FDs. Dont think I have seen that many on the road in the last few years much less in one spot on the same day.

I appologize for not getting to all this sooner I was down with Strep Throat last week and did not get much done.

Those are all very good questions. I intend to take them all in and discuss them this week and have an update for sure by Wednes day. This is what I do know so far:
1. We have two driveways on highway 99. The best way into the dealership is heading south on 99 since it will be a right hand turn in. when leaving I would also suggest a south turn out since it is a right hand turn. Exit 179 off of I-5 will take you to 220th st which is just north of the dealership and an easy way in. My goal for parking is by generation and we are still deciding how we want to assign parking. when you arrive I will have a map of the best routes back to I-5 as well as local fast food and grocery if the BBQ runs short. If everyone is ok it will be hot dogs and hamburgers with some sort of potato chip. The standard food.
2. Dress is casual but please no torn or ripped clothing. (I don't care what people wear but I can't speak for my managers at this point)
3. I think folding chairs would be a good idea since this is going to be a 3:00hr event. Mostly just drooling over the cars we don't have =}
4. (Info to come)
5. As far as setup and tear down we have many dealership employees that will take care of that as we will have to re-organize our car lot. We will place the event at the south end of our lot because it has the most parking room.
6. Our dealership opens at about 9:00am on Saturdays so we should be able to have everything set up by 11:00am. I think that if people start to show around 11:00am then we shoul have a full show by noon when we entend to start the BBQ. If anyone gets lost or needs help finding the location our phone number is 425.774.3551 I will re-post it along with all the final info later this week.

I would also like anyone who knows other forums that have Rotary subsections to post over a link to this thread so that perhaps we might get a few from other websites who might also show to see the cars. This is the first time I have ever planned an event like this so I hope it all goes well. questions or conerns feel free to IM or Call me.
(425) 774-3551

Days off Wednesday and Thursday so I might not get back to phone calls until Friday if they come in when I am off.

Cheers!!

-Chris
