Anything interesting to do in Portland?

It's cheaper for me to get a round trip ticket to Portland than to pay the sales tax on a laptop I want, so I figure I can get myself a "free" trip, and just buy the laptop up there.

Is it worth going or should I just pay the tax and save some vacation days?

Wouldn't it be even cheaper to buy the laptop online from a retailer without a business location in your state, thus exempt from collecting sales tax?

No, not after student discount and free ipod, which don't apply if you don't buy directly from Apple.

What're you getting ^_^ ? MacBook?

[btw.. I work at www.macshop.com, however we don't offer the student discount :/ - but I could get you a discount on a non-warranty repair if you ever need it ]
