Pretty neat engine test apparatus you have there, but that is too long to run the engine without coolant.

Even running it without a thermostat and a garden hose in the water pump inlet would have been better. You have to consider that even though the thermostat may be closed initially, the coolant in the engine still does prevent the central temperature of the engine from reaching dangerous levels. Melting a coolant seal is no fun.

I always give my engines a good warmup without water just to make sure everything is seated. Such a mess if they are not.

BTW After a good 750 mile breakin I am sure you will take Chris. Lets sneak some street slicks in on him. lol.

lol yeah should be interesting to say the least! I kinda went with a streetable hotrod/toy with this build. Enough torque to be used in the city traffic but enough mods to still do ok on the highway...
