Thumbs down Ah, how infaltion happens....

So this car was on the club here for a few, if i remember correctly it was for 1100ish... I saw it was taken to the dealership in WA (that claim to be the rotary specialists of WA) and was being sold for about 4k..... And imagine this, i stumble apon the same car outside a VEEEEEEEEEERY nice house, for 5k exactly as it was when being sold here about six months ago.... Damn i love watching this happen to almost all rotarys now days

It's a good thing--not a bad thing that RX-7's aren't sold for nothing... Obviously that car, just like many others on CL have floated around over the years, so it's always interesting too see the posts that people make. Who was the guy who built that FC? I can picture his avatar...

At least once or twice a year I see one of my TII builds get posted up--shoot, there's one up right now! It's crazy how much nonsense/misinformation gets posted in the ads, LOL. Still always fun to see.

it is and it isnt. I do agree to an extent, but at the same time, when they start selling for what they did new and they are serious projects i see a problem with that.. Or when they are a car that "gains value" four times over in a few months becuase it switches owners (not becuase of things that have been done to it) that bothers me... Really thats only the problem i have with it, i dont think becuase i like my car its worth more, or becuase i got a car (take the vert i just got, i sold it for less than i got it for, becuase i love the cars and the game, and i ended up getting "what i needed" out of it) i could have made alot on fast... And my biggest annoyance with it is as you stated how much misinformation get posted about them or gets said about them

And i cant seem to find the ad on here for that 90 gxl with the turbo swap, otherwise i would have posted it up. But i can see his avatar in my head as well

Although it is a very nice car... The damage to the lower fender was the only reason i was able to remember it, that and the paint flakes on the front driver side

He wants 5 but im sure hed take a more reasonable price for it. People throw up a big number hoping to find a buyer with no knowledge that will assume his price is reasonable. But I do find this funny how a car goes from 1k to 4 at a dealer to 5 at some ones house on c list

Thumbs up

This is the great thing about capitalism. It won't sell for $5k because there is probably 0 buyers in the US who would value that car at $5k... Eventually he will have to lower the price to have a chance of "meeting the sellers in the market".

Another example would be all the s5 verts that are posted on CL for $6k+ by dealerships! (for the most part) Zero market at that price. However, this does add to a perception of value for RX-7's in general, which is GOOD because it positively affects the "real" or "fair market" value of our RX-7's.

Those verts may be REALLY worth $4k and by having SOME of them listed at $6k, it actually increases the "real" values of ALL THE OTHERS by (for example) a few hundred bucks.

The good thing about having such a broad spectrum of prices, and a fairly wide open market is that WE, the enthusiasts can find and buy RX-7's for their "real" value (or less if we're lucky), but still potentially SELL them at the other end of the spectrum (high prices) if we have a worthy vehicle!
