88 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II Trans?

88 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II Trans?

I have a 86 rx7 na and i was wondering what I would have to do to convert the nonturbo tranny to the turbo? What are the benfits if any and where can i get a carbon fiber drive line. Rob

well its a bit of work and prolly isnt worth it.

to run the turbo trany you need a ,t2 flywheel ,clutch, and pressure plate, and front counter weight. (t2 trany uses diff size input shaft, and clutch and other parts)

as far as drive shaft, iono bout carbon fiber, but mazdatrix makes 1 that alows you to bolt a t2 trany to a na rear diff. ( yes those are allso different sizes)

only benifit i can see to this is alot stronger trany(, and t2 has a shorter 5th gear,
....meaning you might actually be able to use it for something..... ( in my na 5th gear is dead, i gotta top out in 4th..)

it wouldn't really be worth it imo, unless ur planning on going turbo as well...

I've got a TII tranny for sale. Rebuilt a couple years ago and never run. $200.
