3rd Modified Exhast Ticket.
I'll have to keep that cut out in mind. My buddy has one on his evo. He got pulled over today for modified exhaust. The cop asked what kind of car it was and then apologized for the confusion and told him to have a nice day.

No it doesn't, choose the right one and there is no power loss whatsoever.

can't be louder then stock? what kind of crap is that. have you ever looked up SEMA to see what they say about it? they fight gay laws like that all the time and even have had laws rewritten in certain states to allow for "legal modifactions" to exhaust and other parts like turbos and nitrous. no louder then stock, freaking weak.
Thats lame man i really want to put a Petition up cuz this is getting stupid!. i got a modified exhaust ticket 2yrs ago but it was a fix it ticket, then i bought a racing beat exhaust and had the officer look at it and he signed it off as back to factory and never been bothered after that!. Seems like to me if you have a fat exhaust tip and its shinny they think its modified (lame). I see it as if Cali with there strict emission laws can have modified exhaust with prof of a Carb E.O sticker being a 50 state legal exhaust Washington defiantly can have modified exhaust!
I've thus far gotten outta all 3 of my tickets.
Key statements I made....
"I have not modified my exhaust, I replaced it."
Law doesn't state that your exhaust can't be replaced. It just can't be modified.
Last judge I had asked if I had a muffler. I said of course! I have two! LoL.
Also, mazda has something on their site about the exhaust characteristics of the rotary engine. They basically say that because the way the rotary engine is, it has a stronger exhaust pulse. Then, i say that this stronger exhaust pulse causes a different sounding exhaust then most normal cars. Then, state that maybe the officer was mistaken and doesn't know what type of engine my car has because there aren't many S4 RX-7 motors.
All true statements. Up to the judge to determine if your exhaust is too loud. Problem with the law is that it doesn't state any dB levels. It also doesn't say anything about replacing with a newer system. The lawyers I talked to said the law was put in place to keep people from putting holes in their mufflers etc. or, if the exhaust doesn't make it all the way to the muffler.
I know the RCW prohibits the use of cutouts.

Factory exhaust is on. Won't be doing much driving till spring rolls around so i can live with it for now. I have my court date december 30th. i'll see how that goes. Hopefully they reduce it if not drop it all together
If he pulled up next to you in a 64 vet convertable, he would probably give you thumbs up say "nice car!) Of course he also might pull you over and ask you if it was stolen. ******* cops.

never seen one like that
