I have a great condition 1985 RX7. The only problem I had in the past few years is the front windshield wiper motor. The first one burned out. I replaced it with a rebuild one about last year. Now the second one managed to strip its plastic gear. The wiper arms seem to move freely, so I am not sure what happened. Opening the gear box I can see the motor turning, but the plastic gear is missing all the teeth.
I am trying to purchase another motor assembly, but no one seem to carry one right now. I would love some advice regarding where to look. Also, does anyone know if the model for 1985 626 is compatible, possibly using the same plastic gear.
I will clean and lubricate the arm assembly to make sure nothing binds, but without a motor/gear assembly, the car cannot pass inspection.
