What is this WIRE!?!?!

I have recently bought a 98 GTUs and I started to take the door trim off and was confused when I saw a wire not plugged into anything. If you could comment what it is. That would be radical.
Thanks,
Horton

Assuming you mean an 88 GTUs, that plug should be for the interior light in the bottom left hand corner of the interior door panel. I don't know if your model is equipped with one. It turns on when either door is opened.

My '86 GXL doors have them.

It is a 98 and I guess my doors just didn't come equipped with them.

Maybe someone can chime in, but that looks like a 2nd gen door handle, not a 3rd gen. And 2nd gen was 1986-1992. So unless I'm really off base here, that car can be no later than 1991 (as in 92 I think only the convertible 2nd gen was offered.)

That wire controls the lower driver door coolant actuator... Biggg fix if they are missing!

Haha no, in all seriousness, Wondrous is right, its just a light in your door panel. Some have them and others did not
