Not another wheel thread
After pages and pages of wheels and fitments and offsets I'm still without an answer. I need a set of wheels that is ready to tackle on European roads(lots of potholes), give me best performance, and somewhat looks. I'm looking for a little more tire and less rim, so 17s would be my best guess. But which wheel size would accommodate the biggest and best selection of tires? That I do not know and asking for your expertise. The tire should handle well in turns and higher speeds. Would a square setup be the perfect one here? Or going wider in the rear give me more grip?
Just way too vague man. At least pick a brand and/or style first. Not all wheels come in RX7 fitment so you really need to make some decisions before coming here asking such an open ended request with tons of variables.

I like the round wheels as they seem to roll better!
***You need to state your vehicle as the different series have different offsets.
17's with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern..(I got old Mustang Bullit wheels on my FC).

I'm an 18" guy for the FD. Ran 17x9 ET42 Square on 255/40-17 tires and had no problems but stepped into the 18 and love them.
My new setup is a bit more flush and has much more tire stuffed under the rear. 18x9.5 ET15 Rear on 275/35-18 and 18x9.5 ET38 Front on 255/35-18 but a really severe roll on the rear...
If you are looking for a square setup some RPF1 18x9.5 ET38 for all 4 would do great on some 255 or even 265 tires.
GL Sir
