What are some ways you use to take off that rubber molding trim on your 1st gen?
Just started kikin 12A recently since I bought a 85fb as my first car and expressing mad love for the car. I was wondering if you guys had any special techniques for taking off that black rubber molding on your fenders, side doors and etc. I've seen people just tear/rip the whole thing but I want it to look clean, usually there's chunks of glue and hard to peel residue left behind. I've taken off a few by slowing peeling it while holding a heat gun to the rubber. As for the residue I've tried alcohol, WD40, and even windex. i found that the wd40 works best but I was wondering if there is a proper way to do it with less chemicals on the paint? What have you guys done to take off yours? I'm sure the SA/FB guys could answer this question best; I've seen a lot of their cars looking nice with the trim off.
