What are your goals with the car? Turbo or NA?

the best thing for you would be (i dont know what the laws are like where you are as im scottish and we dont have any) de-cat it, get an APEXi power fc or a stand alone engine management system that will keep any future mods working together. you can get a Power FC from www.nengun.com at a reasonable price. that will give you the option for future mods like injectors and the like and the decat pipe will give you more power (around 10-15hp) for little cash. hopw that helps but im not to sure about N/A cars as i have only ever had turbo's so dont burn me if this is wrong.

Honestly if you don't have any money, then an intake and exhaust is probably what you should do.

Find a good local shop to make you the exhaust and then do the intake yourself.

A standalone is a $1000+ investment and crazy to do as a first mod.

Definitely have to with him on this. Or if you have a friend who welds you can always just do everything yourself. I have a standalone and they are really nice to have but talk about $$$$$. Something to look forward to in the future but if money is tight just go with the exhaust and intake.
