What Floor Jack for FD

So I went to jack up my FD tonight using a somewhat standard floor jack and I was about 1/4 to 1/2 inch shy of squeezing under the front cross member.

Right now I'm on stock suspension so I'm looking for a floor jack to cover me now and later after I go lower.

Who has a recommendation that works well?

Thanks,
Chad

just snag a low profile jack... most auto parts stores will have one or two for sale, and if you want to get really into it look at sellers online, you can probably find one for cheap

Eventually you'll be low enough that a Harbour Freight aluminum jack won't fit or you won't have room to work the handle up and down. What we do with our race car is to pull up on two 2 x 8 boards about 18 inches long; gets the front high enough to get the jack under and its cheap.

Get a low profile jack that still lifts like a normal one. This is a good example.

Thanks guys. I noticed last night that Northern Tool and equipment had some nice low ones. Heading to see if they have them in the store here in a bit.

I thought about pulling up onto patio pavers as well. That should do the trick.

I use a Sears aluminum "racing" jack. It's still hard to reach the crossmember as the front lip and low bumper make it hard to reach while still being able to operate the handle to jack it up. Some raceramps help to get the front up high enough to reach the crossmember.
