You know, I found a very small switch very similar to this, and it was somehow connected to the alarm. Mine was used to reset the alarm incase of batt failure. It took me almost a month to find that out. I found out by taking my car to a car alarm install shop and asking. Maybe you might wanna try that? Hope this helps.....

so yeah, ill try and go to a car alarm shop and ask them. but so far the alarm reset suggestion seems pretty good. It would make sense because I have a Security Alarm LED(the thing that usually blinks) below my cd deck.

I need to make sure this car starts up as easily as possible.
The variable resistor does nothing to adjust startup fuel. It only affects idle.

I see those little red buttons on tons of vehicles with aftermarket alarm systems on them. That's what it'll be hooked up to if your car has an aftermarket alarm on it.

It's an eject button for the passenger seat. Most commonly used for getting the message through to girlfriends excessively complaining about how much time you spend working on your car rather than taking her shopping.

That switch is def not original. Brings to mind, when I was in high school, we would put in a "secret switch" that one had to flip to send power to the coil - nice, easy anti-borrowing device...

Have you tried pressing the button with someone in the other seat? perhaps it's an ejector button for critical passengers.

I haven't had time to go to a alarm shop with my engine being badly flooded and the battery drained. Its fixed now and runs nicely, even fixed my speedo and volt meter. so now ill be able to hit them up some time soon. But from the looks of it it seems like many people say its a security alarm switch. What would it do though? Is it to reset the system when you accidentally set it off? and I still havent found out how to arm the stupid thing, the LED never blinks.

And i still like the Energizer Bunny Idea. If the bunny can jump start a UFO it can sure as hell start a RX7!

if ur car has an alarm on it and u don't have the keychain remote for it, u'll have to find out the type and model of the alarm and see if u can get a replacement remote from the manufacturer.

Mystery button exposed!!!

Its was a Security Alarm system button!!! So I thought back to the original idea of just pushing it and seeing what happens, then I remembered that if it was a car alarm button then it should be pushed with the engine off and key in the off position, like i did earlier BUT then i just wildly thought why not hold it in? many things reset or turn on/off when held in so I gave that a try and Bam! the Little red LED turned on! so I suggest every one who has the button to try and hold it in for about 3-5 secs and it might just do the trick!

Haha mystery buttons are fun! Found one on my old supra after I bought it and pressed it thinking some awesome **** would happen, like a nitrous-boost
But I soon understood that the old owner had installed some nasty led-lights for the windshield-spray nozzle
