Wastegate actuaor help on cosmo 13b-re

I am running the cosmo 13b-re engine adn I have none of the wastegate actuators. I want to run a manual boost controller and I do not know which of the 3 actuators controlls the overall boost of booth turbos. There is one on top and 2 on bottom. One is a turbo precontrol and I do not want to use that at all as I am running non sequential twins. So my question is, which actuator should I set the boost controller to control both turbo's pressure? Thanks

The "wastegates" you refer to are set up exactly like the FD's, as your 13B-RE and my 20B-REW are just an earlier version of the FD's control system. To operate the turbos correctly, you need the actuators to translate the vacuum signals to physical motion. A manual boost controller acts as a variable restrictor pill to increase the pressure required to open the wastegate. Any good standalone such as a Haltech can do this using a solenoid.

For sequential operation, there is a Turbo Pre-Control Actuator, Turbo Control Actuator and then the Wastegate Actuator. Here is a picture from my build thread:

The Turbo Control Actuator is the one with two 1/4" vacuum nipples on it and is mounted on the front of the exhaust manifold. In the picture, it is touching the workbench. Both the Wastegate and Pre-Control actuators have one 1/4" vacuum nipple on them

Directly above the Turbo Control Actuator is the Wastegate Actuator, whose rod goes to the middle of the turbos. Between the TCA and WG Actuators and set inward a bit is the Pre-Control Actuator. Its rod extends the furthest back, to approximately the same area as the Turbo Control Actuator. When both are closed, all of the exhaust flow is directed to the front turbo.

Not a great picture, but the Pre-Control Actuator is visible from the front here:

When viewing the turbos from the front, all 3 actuators form a triangle with the Pre-Control being the closest to the shortblock.

To get a better understanding of how the Turbo Control System operates, please check out my build thread here: https://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-294/project-oldtree-12-days-rotormas-888195/. Page 3 has a detailed explanation of how the system transitions from single turbo to twin turbo mode.
