Tune Required? (FD)
Tune Required? (FD)
I've looked through the tuning section and searched what I could think of but nothing really came up that really answered my question fully, so here's my question:
What go-fast mods can you do to a 3rd gen on the stock ecu/stock map without getting into dangerous A/F's? It seems like, from what I've read that with downpipe and exhaust I'll be ok but with an intake, that may lean it out enough to be dangerous, is this correct? Also an upgraded intercooler will definitely require a tune, is this also correct? Lastly, would either venting the oem bypass valve to the atmosphere or replacing with an aftermarket bov be ok without a tune? I figure it will worst-case scenario go rich, not lean, at release w/o a tune but would wouldn't really change anything at any other time, is this correct?
Sorry if this has been covered many times, which I'm sure it has but I just want to make sure.
Thanks in advance!
Ben
