FL tranny problem

So I'm having some issues with my car. I got an 88 rx7. The other day I popped my clutch at like 7k rpm, went sideways, and heard something pop. As of now the car won't move. I still have to push the clutch pedal down to put it in gear but when I let the pedal go I get nothing. The car stay like its in neutral but it would be in first gear. Any and every suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you need a new clutch

Can you select any gear and it doesn't move? While its running if you try to select a gear without the clutch will it let you? If you select a gear and have someone look under the car whilst your trying to move, see if the tail shaft spins if it spins and no go then you have a diff problem otherwise your problem is more than likely clutch or gearbox. If you have pedal pressure and it allows you to select a gear though it more likely the box..

As per the poster above this says to me that the problem is more likely to be gearbox/prop/diff I'm afraid!

the question now is: is it ONLY first, or do ANY of the gears actually engage? try them all. if you get any gear, then it's the tranny. if none of the gears work, then look elsewhere in the driveline.

have you tryed to push the car around to see ir rear diff blew up. they are saposibly good up to 500HPbut iv done something simular when was driving clutch was sliping horibly was going up the road and hardly moving at like amost 8grand and flywheel locked into the clutch and instantly was direct drive couldnt even shift out of gear, left bout 30 feet of rubber and brought frount tire off ground. and blew the pasnger side drive axel didnt know was blown till put new clutch in and woundnt drive.

try puting up and spining tires and the driveshaft to check rear end if frozen or broken.
gunna probly need a clutch and bearings plus input shaft for tranny.

Probably an axle or drive shaft

Dumping the clutch on 25 year old axles will do that.
