Exclamation TIMEING/ distributor adjustments??? where should it be??

hi guys. i have a first gen 1980 rx7 12a n/a webber dcoe side draft carb r/b intake and 1 msd 6al box set up to controll the leading side only.

i have the newer dizzy with the magnetic pick ups,

long story short. where should my timeing be?? i see a few places on here that say

16 degrees trailing/ 24 degrees leading, i think thats right.

this is what i have gathered so far...

i have the 2 timeing marks on the main pully the first one while turning clockwise is my leading at 0 degrees ( TDC) and the second mark being my trailing at 20 (BTDC)

im supposted to remove the 4x 10 mm bolts and measure out 5mm metric at a time in both directions to obtain 1 degree per 5 mm of spaceing. this is what i have read so far. and then with my timeing light on the leading side put it at 24degrees BTDC??? and the trailing to 16 degrees btdc ?? how i know u can unbolt the anchor under the dizzy and adjust the timeing.

BUT how do i adjust the trailing side?? do i use the vaccume advance controlls....( WHICH BTW ARE NOT EVEN BEING USED.... I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH THE DIZZY LIKE THIS..... THEY HAVE 1 PIECE OF VACCUME HOSE RUNNING FROM ONE ,, DRIECTLY TO THE OTHER..??? IS THIS TO ACHIVE MAXIMUM ADVANCE AT ALL TIMES??? I TESTED THE DIAPHRAMS TO SEE IF THEY WERE BAD BUT THEY WORK FINE.. SOO WHY IS THIS LIKE THAT. ILL ATTACH PICS TOMOROW AFTERNOON. IF I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW. srry about all the caps just wanted to make this my main question lol

heres some info that may help u about my car..

i had a bad ignitor so i cut it open and jumped the insides so i can hook up the msd through it.

no porting done. . n/a set up . just 2x 60k volts coils leading and trailing. raceing beat supper spark 7 or 8 mm plug wires... bad *** btw.. 156 bucks later..... haha

shitty exhaust. last owner grabbed what ever was around and started welding.... includeing (GALVINIZED STEEL FENCE POSTS) AHAHA SOUNDS QUITE THOUGH LOL

ummm yeah i cant find out what size or kinda webber eigther. cauz half the numbers are not visible due to some sort of epoxy or jb weld on top of the carb, yeah i think its a 45 or 48 dcoe webber.

any help or confirmation of what i wrote being correct would be much appreciated..

thanks guys.

Timing is set according to the FSM. Line the pointer up with the first mark on the pulley (leading) and then stab the dizzy with the dimple on the gear lined up with the pointer mark on the dizzy shaft body. Helps to remove the cap to hold the rotor in place.
