disassembled the front end on a all original '85 GSL-SE

The tie rod ends are all tight and rust free ... but the rubber boots are shot.

Any experience with replacing the boots (found online) + grease
vs.
new Moog tie rod ends?

 

If only the boots are worn, just replace the boots.

 

Summit carries the boots, took a little trimming but they seal and so far have held the grease
